Update on my application:-
Received my ID documents back around 5 days ago, heard nothing since then. Although I did forget to 'untick' the Overdraft box so I hope that hasn't affected the application in any way.
Hope you hear something soonMrs Storeyxx

I think you do have to request a cheque book, it was certainly implied that way when I rang yesterday.£2 Coin Savers Club (Christmas)- £86£1 Jar (Christmas)- £29Christmas Vouchers Saved: £1450

Thanks to the OP who posted about this account! I applied with my DH just before Christmas so phoned today to chase it up and we have had an account opened. I checked our credit ratings a couple of days ago and we were both around 430 so pretty bad all relating to debt in our youth which has only just been sorted out now we are just turned 30!
Just a quick question, we have an account number and sort code (given to us over the phone) but do you need anything else to connect to the online banking?0 -

You will need you card number to access online banking.
You will also need to activate your card first, then register it for online banking

Ours came today, 2 days after our PIN if that helps anyone.
You need to activate them, staff seem very helpful and thorough.
Also, have been able to change my PIN at a Link machine (owned by Nationwide) with no problems.£2 Coin Savers Club (Christmas)- £86£1 Jar (Christmas)- £29Christmas Vouchers Saved: £1450 -

Saved me asking the question
Received everything through now, PIN, Card, Chequebook and Welcome Pack.
Online bank is a little 'weird' but looks like it has everything I need. So overall, quite impressed.0 -

Lloyds TSB issue a Visa Debit card with their under 19s account and it states that the retailer will attempt to authorise the transaction MOST of the time (like Electron except that is authorised ALL of the time), implying that it is possible for it to be processed without being authorised.
I assume this card is the same...0
