  • £74.98 delivered for a sony refurb at Valutech HERE

I just got one of these Sony units through - can't really fault it for the price.
Map upgrades are supposed to be available soon for download. I missed out on the elusive Medions at Tesco , but hey ! I ended up with a Sony.. how cool's that ?:T

Asda have the Mio C510e for £150 which comes with the really good iGo software and bluetooth for handsfree mobile use, other wise similar spec to the tomtom Europe(which is £190 and no bluetooth).
One other advantage of the Mio is that you can 'hack' it(really simple) to use as a PDA and play mp3 and mp4 video files which is handy.

just popped into ASDA to have a look at the Mio C510e but it said £199.99 reduced from £250.

So I took the plastic case to the cashier and asked for a price check. She then popped out the back and came back with a box Mio C510e and scanned it through.

To my surprise, it read £126.81 :j

Not bad for SatNav with blue tooth, handsfree.

Big thanks for Boatman for the tip!

My deepest apologies if this has been posted already. I was looking to buy a Sat Nav unit today to put on a Contract Hire car (I wan't to keep it after I return the car!). I'm off to the Lake District and want to 1) get there safely and 2) be able to hike around and find my way back to the hotel.

I was researching the smallest unit I could find, and stumbled across what looks like a fantastic deal on ebuyer:

Fujitsu Siemens Pocket Loox N100 Sat Nav + PDA 300MHz 64MB Windows Ce Navigon Satnav + European Maps - £139.99 including VAT

    http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/123570

It has £100 off currently and the unit has excellent reviews all round. Also it comes with a lot of maps preinstalled and others that unfortunately have to be unlocked from the DVD. I also used Google checkout (£10 off) which meant my total payment including VAT and free delivery was just £129.99

That's a total saving of £110 unless I've been foolish somewhere along the way. Hopefully it will arrive in 5 days (free shipping) and I will be over the moon! It comes with a 1GB card apparently and headphones for listening to music. All the reviews are 5 stars on ebuyer and from what I've read it is an excellent unit (improved with upgrading the firmware).

Update: ebuyer just knocked another £10 off, which makes it exactly half price now if you use Google checkout. I'm starting to wonder if there's something wrong!

your average car sat nav (well the one I've got) is generally no good /useless for navigating off road. And if you're in the LD why would you be walking on the roads
nothing to stop it taking you over a cliff, though a bit like a one way street, we hope you'ed spot it before you proceeded

That said, good price for something includng euro maps

but it seems you were asking for advice, but then say you've already purchased

I'm terrible at shopping. I see something that I like and I can't help buying! They should build a 2 hour time-lock on my credit card!

I understand walking might not work very well on a car-based sat nav, but I've read some reviews that say it's possible. I was thinking more along the lines of being lost in a forest hiding from bears and wondering which way is North. It was something to do with lichen on trees but I can never remember. Yes, it's probably quite obvious that I have never been to the Lake District before, or infact anywhere outside of a Major city! I'm sure I'll be fine.

The Sat Nav unit is mainly for driving as I'm planning a few trips through Europe and don't want to risk trying to read maps on the way. Hopefully it works as well as some of the reviewers have claimed, I shall provide feedback after I've tried it out myself.

I just got a promo code from tracker for the tracker journey sat nav - I'm certain that this is a re branded Evesham Nav Cam 7000/7500. The retail price was £250 but with the promo code it is £99 via the tracker journey website.
Looks like a great deal - it seems to have all the esential sat nav bits (speed cameras, full postcode searching etc) - Too good to be true?
BTW (I'm new here) can I post the code or is that against the rules?
