Your "reasons" without proof are just mud slinging. To me, it's like kids in the playground calling each other names. I believe that adults should back up what they say with facts and evidence. You are not doing that.
Bigoted:- biased, intolerant, one-sided, partial, prejudiced.
I am perfectly happy to receive criticism that is based on fact. In this instance you are not providing any actual facts or evidence. It looks as though you believe your suspicion makes itself a fact. Until you can quote numbers that are verifiable, I shall continue to believe that you are bigoted if you keep going with your assertion that the WHICH? report was perverted by the actions of UW distributors and/or their families, friends, customers or any other acquaintance. I have already said that I am a UW distributor and have a subscription to WHICH? I did not take part in their research. Please, just show me some evidence to prove your alllegation or move on.
So let's get this straight!
Nothing should be published on this thread without proof?
Opinions are not allowed?
UW reps should not make any claims without proof?
So lets have some facts.
On the WHICH survey UW came way top for 'value for money' - the only 5* rating - yet it is an inescapable fact that UW simply do not compete on price as the other Utility companies all have cheaper tariffs.
The participation of UW 'customers' was way in excess of their market share.
My views and reasons are in the quote below:According to UW’s own site they have 208,444 customers including those who do not take gas and electricity from UW.
They have 16,600 independent distributors.
I think you would agree that is an unusually high percentage of ‘employees’ for such a small customer base. Indeed it is approx the same as British Gas.
Given the UW sales technique of recruiting family and friends, statistically the chance of these 16,600(plus family and friends) participating in the Which poll is way way in excess of the employees of any other utility company.
Even the most naïve would concede that any UW ‘employee’(or family member) has a vested interest in ensuring that UW fare well in the poll.
This is confirmed by the proportionally high number of UW 'customers' participating in the poll.
Bearing in mind that this poll was for Gas and Electricity it is rather surprising that UW came top in the ‘Value for Money’ category, when it is very clear that UW cannot compete on price.
Secondly I am very much suggesting that vested interests will determine the how people vote in a poll.
Cyprus will vote for Greece in the Eurovision song contest, Baltic states will vote for each other.
Miners voted Arthur Scargill as BBC Man of the Year. Jean-Marie Le Pen was voted Man of the year in France.
UW reps and their families voting for UW in the Which poll? - mmmmm. Let others decide if that could possibly happen.
My motives surely do not matter?
Without the intervention of those of us who can put UW claims into perspective, this thread would simply be an advertising thread for UW; which is no doubt the reason for all the personal attacks against anyone who exposes UW sales techniques.
The case in point is the frequent claim that WHICH have reported that UW are the best Utility Company - when it is simply a(flawed) reader survey and not a report.
People can read and simply make up their own mind if UW is suitable for them.
Lastly as I said above, I really find it a disapointment that you are resorting to such tactics. Your input used to be far better. Especially when you stopped any UW selling and were complaining(objectively) about the company. I assume you are now back operating as a Rep?0 -

In years past, newspaper reporters have given some favourable writeups on the company. Do you think they were employed by UW too?The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

I'd never heard of Utilities Warehouse or Telecom Plus until a newspaper-style leaflet called The Independence came in with the local freebie. Full of 'case studies' showing people who've bought £1m homes and fancy cars and yachts on what they've got from Telecom Plus without, apparently, doing more than a few hours work a month. What was not very clear was what work you did have to do. Ah.... "introduce friends.... "
It came across to me as one of the good old pyramid-selling schemes and said publication is now doing its bit for our area's paper recycling scheme....0 -

I am not yet a distributor but I have a friend who is and I am thinking of joining to have an extra source of income. I wondered if anybody has had any good/bad expriences with Utility Warehouse and if people think I should/shouldn't join? I'd appreciate any feedback, good or bad to help me make my decision, thank you!!!:D0

PS Seriously, I think this may be better in the extra income forum. It will only cause trouble in here. I'm not a distributor but can definitely see the appeal of the business. Especially in a recession. FTSE-250 company and their shares have been incredibly good performers over the last year (there aren't many shares you can say that about, lol) so the 'money men' would tend to agree with my assessment.Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0
