i had it orginally as part of my mobile phone package with orange.
when that came to an end, i applied for my mac code to shop around for a broadband provider. once i had it, i rang orange and told them i was giving them a chance to do me a deal to keep me as a customer.
to my surprise, they came back, and asked me if i was happy with the service, i said yes, they told me they'd sign me up for 12 more months, at no cost.
2 months later i'm still a little stunned ! (and of course, i have cancelled all DD's just in case !!):grouphug:

For all the slagging on here, it would appear that UW are doing things the City like the look of.2008 Winners: we salute the few!

LONDON (SHARECAST) - Step forward Asterand, Emerald Energy and Telecom Plus, three of the best performing stocks of the year.
http://www.sharecast.com/cgi-bin/sharecast/story.cgi?story_id=2527405
The shares were 134p on 21/11/2007 and closed at 311.5p at Xmas 2008. Given the terrible hammering UK shares have taken in general over the last year, an astonishing performance. Plus they've just joined the FTSE 250.Call me Carmine....

A friend of mind uses them, i asked him why as they were not the cheapest. He said i know full well their not the cheapest but they didnt claim to be,i get completely free uk calls which has got to be worth £60 a year, and i get all my utilities on one bill which i like.So some people dont have a problem with them.0

I see from their main website https://www.utilitywarehouse.co.uk/home/index.taf?exref= they have been given the Which Best Buy Home Phone and Broadband supplier award Dec 2008.0

Expect Cardew to try and debunk that one again, lol. If only they could manage to get Asda and/or Tesco on their cashback card I would probably join up, TBH...Call me Carmine....

I would imagine if you have relatives in the US, Hong Kong, Australia etc and ring them regularly then the deal will be a very good one. There's no such thing as a tariff/company that's the best for everyone, is there? We've had a massive UW detractor on here admit that he uses BT for his broadband even though they can't compete on price in any way. Ironically he's the one who drones on about UW being 'uncompetitive'. Strange argument, really, when he himself debunks it by paying all that extra for his broadband..Call me Carmine....

If it is the same as the claim for gas and electricity - and this is the gas and electricity forum - it is absolutely meaningless.
That was a reader survey; 16,600 UW reps and their friends and family all with a very strong vested interest in giving UW a good score.
It was no co-incidence that the number of participants voting for UW was several times more than their market share.
They even came top for price, when even their most ardent salesman will concede that they are one of the most expensive products on the market.0 -

You have a suspicion but no proof. The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

How many distributors and their families/friends belong to the WHICH? readership and could vote? What percentage of them voted? I am a UW distributor as well as being WHICH? member and I did not vote.
You have a suspicion but no proof.
Of course there is no proof - any more than there is proof that there are UW reps spamming this and other websites.
Any survey of this type where vested interests can vote are totally discredited.
If you believe that the WHICH survey was a genuine reflection of the merits of UW, then you will probably believe that Dr Harold Shipman was President of 'Help the Aged'.0
