Also you can add grated carrots when you are cooking mince, this makes it go further and is a good way of sneaking vegetables in if you need to ;D
I think they mean red lentils, which are cheapest in Indian supermarkets if you have any near you.

I've done better than that tonight - mince without the mince! We had red lentils, tin of chick peas, tin of tomatoes, lashings of soy sauce and Hendersons Relish with flakes of succulent herbs like sage, mixed, mild chille powder, paprika, all cooked together till their juices mingled and at the peak of their perfection, we had them with chips! :)
    Torgwen.......... :) ...........

For quite a few years now I've been making my chilli con carne with 1/2 pound mince then increasing the volume with lots of veggies, really tasty & good for you too :) I add things like chopped celery, carrots, muchrooms, courgettes as well as the usual kidney beans, tomatoes etc

Makes enough so I can freeze half away & we can have 2 meals for the price of 1 :)

VG - who has always thought she wouldn't mind one of those 1001 things to do with mince as she loves it! ;D
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out

I add porridge oats to bulk up mince based meals. It makes enough to freeze for another meal.

Now if you'd said mice, this would be quite a funny thread.
Then you could substitute mice for gerbils, hamsters, ooohhh the options are endless.
What about rabbits, guinea pigs, small kittens?
Oohhh this is what happens when you have a bank holiday monday off work...
