BTW does anyone out there know how long perfumes, and cosmetics etc last unopened? Thinking about things in the sale and keeping them for presents. The longest I have ever kept them is 6 months. But will they be ok for Next christmas. I am sure someone here will know. Thanks again everyone. Polly

I have just bought from a specialist French perfume seller some Eau de Parfum which is 15 years old, and perfect! The rule with perfume is to keep it away from heat and light.

And I always give my daughters cosmetics I've
bought throughout the year. They don't last as long as perfume (I think 3 years is a suggested maximum, as long as they haven't been opened). Again, store away from heat and light and they'll be fine.

Thanks for this useful info. I was always concerned that the recipient would open it and it had gone off and would be too kind to tell me. Also consider me a right scrooge for the rest of their lives :o I will deffo stock up in the sales and spend my points (Thank you Boots)

Any clues as to whether it is possible to use double points coupon during the xmas event?

I think last time I was in a xmas event I used my coupon. I'm not 100% sure.

I used mine last time, think it says on reverse not to be used on xmas nights but staff usually so busy they just want to serve you quickly

    Happy shopping :p
  • Not all stores are doing goodie bags, its up to each store, so its worth while asking.

What points do they double, is it the actual cash you have spent or do they give you double if you have used a voucher as well, e.g. 250 points on a No7 purchase?

The answer to the first question is No, you can't use the double points coupon on the shopping evening, I know because I tried. The till rejects it not the SA.

Re the second question you only get the double points on the Cash actually spent
