Give someone a warm glow for Christmas...an alternative charity gift.
The small hospice charity I work for (I won't name them so I can't be told off for advertising) sells gifts like "Buy a nurse for a day" for a sick child or "music therapy sessions".
You can get them on lots of charity websites and some are on eBay too:ANot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550 -
How about giving your time to someone that has everything. It could be in the form of taking them out for a day at your expense or offering to be their chauffer, cook, servant for a day. You can even ask them for their weekly shopping list and do the shopping for them at your expense.0

I got a 'This Is Your Life' album on line and asked family and all my sisters friends to send in photos and memories of special times with my sister, for her 30th. I also included school reports, excerpts from letters she had sent, pictures off the internet which related to her childhood, for example films she liked at the time. I must say, it did take a long time, especially as I don't have a scanner, photocopier or a printer at home. But definitley worth the end result.0

Also www.darlingandlarling.co.uk do some really lovely stuff, especially if the recipient has kids, for example jewellry with their fingerprint engraved. There is also this company www.aptwrapped.com where you fill out a questionnaire about the recipient and they will make a unique bespoke gift. For the holistic minded there is http://www.internationaltreefoundation.org/files/homeopathy.htm where you can buy a tree which will be used in homeopathy.
www.wornby.co.uk which recreat garments once worn by icons of the past from music, film and sport.0 -

I have bought my husband - who really does have every gadget and gimmick going - a Free Loader for portable solar energy. It can be charged for 6 hours by sunlight or 3 hours USB. The power can then be transferred to give 2 hours talk time on a mobile phone 18 hours running time on an i pod 2 1/5 hours on a PSP, cameras and so on. It comes with around 15 different adaptors. ots about the size of a mobile phone when folded and a nice stainless steel finish. Here it comes it was around £30.00
