What's the deal?
When it comes to in-car sat navs, Dutch company TomTom is the market leader, since its units consistently get good reviews and user feedback. The basic 'ONE' unit retails at £140, but it's possible to get it a bit cheaper, or reclaim a third of your outlay in Tesco ClubCard deals.

- TomTom ONE GB (Version 3) £127 delivered with £10 accessories voucher. Amazon & Dixons have the 'Christmas Cracker Edition' pack, which comes in a festive box with a £10 voucher off accessories, for £127 delivered. The unit itself is compact and easy-to-use with full postcode search and full UK maps.
- TomTom ONE GB (Version 3) £140 collect in-store/£145 delivered with £45 worth of ClubCard deals. Tesco's currently giving an extra 999 ClubCard points when you buy a TomTom. If you redeem these in-store they're only worth 1p each, yet use them to get Clubcard Deals (rewards such as meals and days out) and they're worth 4 times as much. The 1139 clubcard points you'd get for buying this TomTom would give over £45 back in deals vouchers. Read Loyalty Schemes article for more info on this.
If you've seen one cheaper then please post it below and I'll add it in to this post.

Just wanted to point out that the TomTom One GB in Tesco is version 2, and the Christmas Cracker Edition in Amazon and Dixons is the newer version 3.0

I ordered the tom tom one GB from Tesco a few weeks ago and I got a version 3.Tesco: £1361.19, Vanquis: £2644.73, Very: £563.08, Next: £1636.95, M&S: £1049.92. As of 5th February 2024. Slava Ukraini0

How about Tomtom ONE GB + TRAFFIC for £154 (£27 more than tomtom ONE alone). Plus you get the benefits of free traffic updates and routes automatically made around traffic jams, potentially saving you time, and also money in petrol (assuming the system works properly).0

Hi
I just wanted to add that yesterday, I ordered the TomTom One V3 Europe from Halfords, for £129 which obviously if you are considering driving in Europe is worth going for over the GB version!
I found it via this link http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10651&storeId=10001&langId=-1&productId=260869&p1=38270&p2=31284
but instead of clicking through from there (the link didn't work anyway!) I noted the discount code and then I went via Quidco, clicked through to Halfords, put the satnav in my basket, and added the discount code.
So I got almost £20 off the sat nav and another £5.20 tracked via Quidco.
Incidentally the TomTom One Europe was a Which Best Buy - although the Which mag didn't specify it was the V3 (unsure of the difference or if the V3 is just a newer version) however the reviews on Amazon regarding this satnav were mostly favourable. We have been researching them for a while so this discount was enough to persuade me. Its due for delivery next week.0 -
One difference is that v2 uses an sd card - v3 does not have that facilityDot0

Yes, thats right I remember now. It does have a large internal memory though I'm led to believe, to store all the europe maps which presumably take up quite a bit of room.0

I ordered one of these last week doing exactly what you did. I ordered on a Saturday and it arrived on the Tuesday. An excellent buy for £129.
I tried to order another one for a friend last night and the prices have gone up to £148.88 even using the discount code which now only discounts at 61p.0 -

This is a link to the page at Halfords showing the TomTom Traffic ranges.

If you find one you like it is worth googling the model to see if there are any online discount codes or special offers available.0
