Some buyers - GRRRR

  • Imagine you're a seller. Someone pays, and you leave them positive feedback. A few days later, they try to scam you; by sending you back the item after they've broken it, or by claiming it never arrived.

    You've already left them positive feedback. That would be quite annoying.

    It's the buyer's responsibility to leave feedback first, and I say this as someone that uses eBay primarily for buying.

    As i use the auto-feedback, i use it as an excuse that the buyers have to leave it first as i can't!

    I have only recieved neg feedback once and this is how it happened ,
    I bought some items from overseas ,and the international postage was not listed .I emailed seller before bidding and asked P&P the response said not sure maybe $15.00 .I stated in email I still had concerns and would go through with purchase and said if P&P was much higher i would leave neuttral feedback .Invoiced for $49.00 P&P ..real postage $17.00...

    I left neutral ......items as described international delivery expensive ..

    I had negative off them saying totally unreaonable comments .

    My only neg was from a seller too. Waited a week after paying for Next Day Delivery

    emailed - no response

    Week later (two weeks since winning) Emailed again - no response

    Four days after that (18 days after winning) - Emailed again - No response

    Package arrived on the 19th day.

    I left a Neutral for slow delivery

    Got Negged by the seller as a consequence!!!

    So who should leave feeback first ?
    If I have paid for an item straight after an auction (which I generally do )then..imho.... my side of the transaction has been completed ..what more is a seller waiting for ..

    Confirmation they are satisfied with the item;
    communication in the event of problems;
    not receiving pushy emails demanding to know where the item is within hours of payment;
    not being asked where the item is 2 days after an e-cheque payment has been started;
    not being asked for the item to be posted to an unconfirmed or differing paypal address;
    not being pestered every morning at 9.05am because the postman hasn't arrived yet;
    no complaints that the buyer had to collect the parcel from the post office because a bundle of 7 DVD's would not fit through their letter box;
    no complaints that the postman got them out of bed to sign for the parcel;
    no complaints that the packaging was damaged even though it was listed as shop soiled;
    no complaints that the postman joked that the brown jiffy bag contained !!!!!!, I should be using white ones;
    no complaints about combined postage charges when the items are ALL listed as free postage;
    no neutrals for a PS2 game that it does not work on the buyers PSOne;
    no complaints that the Region 1 DVD where the listing boldly states that a multi-region player is required does not work on their UK DVD player;
    no paypal disputes relating to fraudulent use of a credit card chargeback because it was hubby buying wife a present that she did not like;
    no emails a week after dispatch asking for a refund because they have had an unexpectedly large gas bill and need the money;

    ad nauseum....

    All genuine, and most from personal experience.

    I don't fear a neg for poor service or late despatch, mis-description etc - these areas I have fully under control, but a neg from an idiot needs to be replied to as a warning to other sellers.

    Off topic slightly, but a spam phone-call from MBNA nearly sent me over the edge. Hence the post above.

    Rant over. Goodnight.
