vegetables - any uses for the leaves?

Was trimming a cauli today, and there was loads of (stalky) greenery around the white "flesh". I just wondered if this could be made into soup, or any other ideas? Seems a shame to just chuck it (although I did on this occasion).
:D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

I shred mine for my chickens but I've used them for bubble and squeak if they're not too tough.

I usually give it to my neice for her pet rabbit, it eats the greens but doesn't do stalks.

We always eat the green leafy bits which are like greens I suppose. The stalks aren't that good for us though but the guinea pigs like them. :)

I always trim the greens part and add it to the cauliflower florets as they cook. Healthy and adds a bit of colour to the veg on the plate.

    1st post! :D

I had cauliflower cheese yesterday and shredded the greens and added them to the cheese sauce - was lovely! Hope it helps.

Thanks everyone, seems like I will either have to get a small pet, or a compost bin (the obvious solution but haven't got around to it yet :o), or make the effort to cut the leaves off the stalks and boil 'em!

So, no takers for me stalks then? :p

Warm welcome to the mad (but thrifty) house Sarahmelita. Hope you have loads of fun sharing tips with us. I will christen your first post methinks - so brace yourself! :rotfl:
