I absolutely second the advice to have a sit down and a chat about what will need doing and who would like to do what, as they need to realise you cannot do it all. Then they can choose for themselves which tasks they would prefer and so have some control over it all.
fly lady can be very confusing but with a kitchen timer set to 10 or 15 minutes and for you all to work together for that time and stop when the timer goes off is a good place to start.
Lastly, if it all gets too much and you don't know where to start, just do what you need to to stop yourselves getting ill- things like wiping germy kitchen surfaces and toilets. After all nobody dies because they have failed to wash their windows. Good luck with it all.I wish you all the best.0 -
Please don't send me to flylady - I had a look there and was utterly baffled!
I honestly don;t know why  You get a welcome PM, there's a new list every day of jobs that need doing, and you can ask questions as to what needs to be done.
Come on over, introduce yourself, and I'll make sure that you are welcomed warmly
I'll add this to the Flylady thread later.

Chilling out today after shifting all the top soil/turf as my arms have slightly given up, BF is suffering with his back from laying the turf
But the garden does look lovely, I keep looking out the window, as its odd to see a garden instead of a mound of rubbish. Just need to do the boarders and maybe plant some flowersMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

I tried a routine, it didn't work for me. I ended up doing things that didn't need doing, just because they were on the list
My kids are 18 and 20, so if they don't sort their own rooms (including changing the beds) then they have to wallow in their own mess.
Our bed is changed once a week, twice in the summer. We don't make a point of cleaning the kitchen, it's cleaned up as we go IYSWIM, so no need for a deep clean. Same for the bathroom.
Everything else (hoovering, dusting, washing, ironing etc) is done when I think "oh, that needs doing".
When the freezer is running low, I batch cook.
Sounds a bit haywire, but it works for meBulletproof0 -
