    Whilst water companies have effectively been told to cap prices at inflation for the next 5 years, it does nothing about the recent huge prices the water companies have imposed.

    e.g. I've just had my (metered) water bill for the next 6 months from Severn Trent. Whilst my consumption was exactly the same as the previous 6 months, the bill has increased by over 30% :eek:

    I wonder how my employer would react if I were to suggest a 5.5 year pay deal of 30% plus inflation? :rolleyes:


    The rise in share prices of water companies, Severn Trent in particular, on the news says it all.


    Edit: Btw, I believe it is an average if £3 off before inflation spread over the next 5 years, so don't hold your breath
