Hi all new to this site but have just sent my request to Natwest with a £5 postal order asking for the list of charges i know full well it is nearly £400 in the last two months, just not sure if i will get by on the hardship route, I have a partner who works part time only 20 hours per week, i was made redundant in Dec 08 then got hit by deppression and stress, was off work on company sick pay for 7 months ( approx £250) month, have arrears on mortgage of over £7k, collection companies on phone every day, council tax not being payed and being taken to court if not already, have to pay baillifs for last years council tax already water rates not payed either, finally found a temp job working for ironically a bank refunding PPI claims but wage seems to go nowhere last week got hit by £152 charges which bounced an agreed mortgage payment so will get another charge for that too, am at my wits end and just dont know where to turn, any advice would be most appreciated

Can I ask what the debt collection agencies are chasing you for?
Which bank is it that you are reclaiming from?

Ok, if you have internet banking you can start the process of adding up the charges as you can search online for transaction details for 12 month periods at a time back 7 years.
With the credit card debts we need to get more info unless you have kept all the statements from them. If you have then reclaim the whole of the charges since the card was opened. It may substantially reduce your arrears and it will keep the DCA's off your back.

You have mortgage arrears, you have council tax arrears and lifestyle event.
I think we have a chance on this one but we gotta try and get everything not just bank charges.

Hopefully the kick up the backside has had the effect of getting the head out of the sand .
You can claim from the bank and the debt collection agency may have to go and take a long leap of a cliff if the amount is higher than than the amount you owe.
If you have been defaulted then your credit report maybe the route of getting the details of them. There are other things as well but the credit report is the first part.

Hello All

I would really value some advice please.

I applied to the First Trust Bank in Belfast under financial hardship as I had moved to a lower paying job and because of a number of OTHER errors on their part, my account was all over the place (they were paying the full balance off my credit card each month rather than 3% which I had agreed with them - resulting in me having to live on my credit card). Anyway.... yesterday I received a (very grudging offer) of £1137 - about a third of the charges that had applied to my account since 2001 (no interest applied). They talk about this being a full and final 'hardship' payment but say at the end of the letter that my ongoing complaint about bank charges will remain open until the results of the Supreme Court Ruling. Basically, I just want to be VERY clear that when I accept their FULL AND FINAL offer, it does not jeopardise the rest of my claim. Obviously 1137.00 would come in very handy at the moment! I would really appreciate any advice you may have. Lots of love to you all Stephanie
