I applied to switch to Ebico for Gas and Electric on the 3rd of July.
I received the welcome pack from Southern Energy today telling me the change over will be on the 16th August, so just over 6 weeks for the excersise.
Just given them my meter readings over the phone, and cancelled the DD with Scottish Power.
I just hope SP will be as efficient in refunding the balance on my account.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

    Re Equipower & Equigas,
Does anyone know what the new prices will be in September, when they are due to increase.
I have E-mailed them re the increase, but have not received an answer.

From vague recollections I think you are premature for an announcement. Moreover one can not be sure of the timing, though increase expected sometime. From comments on MSE I think they will remain very competitive.

I'd suggest the best option, is to bookmark the Ebico site in your browser and make regular visits to the site. In the meantime just print off 2005/06 rates sp you have a comparison beside you

Hope all goes well Penrhyn, and we save some money

So a not for profit company that made no money last year will absorb 50% plus real price increases from its supplier! I think you are dead wrong.

We'll see which of us is right - just for fun of course.

I for one will be rooting for Bullshine (though your name has an ominous ring to it).
Mind you I've got enough to worry about as changeover day approaches, will the new gas be as hot as the old, will the new electricity be the same voltage, will there be a big surge that will wipe out the TV and PC when they throw the switch?
I used to be paranoid, but now I know they are out to get me.

I really think it will be Jan 07 before they go but you have been around here longer than me! LOL :j
  • In my old days as a single parent I had prepayment meters for gas, electric and a slot TV. It was the only way I could make sure there was enough money for everything and yes there were times where we sat in the dark or went to bed early cos there was no electric, sometimes it was a case of no heating or no light, heating won.
Paid off so far Natwest overdraft £1900 Kays catalogue £200 Personal Loan £2500 Tax Credit £1300 J D Williams

Blimey, I'm a bit like that now. If I budget for 93 units of gas in Jan the heating goes off when its used. God I'm sad...

... my bills are low though. _party_

PS. There's a thought. If prices rise 20% could I just use 19 units of gas less next Jan. Hmmm...
