So are you suggesting to us that not all fatal road traffic collisions are reportable?
If so how do you get round that fact that the coroner will have an interest in this and will want an investigation into the matter. After all his property has been left on the carriageway.

You said you could have a fatal accident and not report it. The law, which you posted says otherwise;the driver must report the accident and produce such a certificate or other evidence.<<<

The coroner will of course have to be informed but that is not my job as the driver of the mechanically propelled vehicle who ran over Seb's head, it would be up to his loved one left at the scene to do this. No doubt (s)he would look after his personal effects too.
The situation I described was made up by me in order to try and explain this portion of law to Seb. However, I am not playing with words as Section 170 of the Road Traffic Act is quite clear on the subject. I have never come across such a situation but it would be within the law for some selfish, callous person to kill another human being, comply with the traffic law and drive off. Having said that, I have no doubt that Seb's loved one would say it was "the driver's fault" and the collision would have to be reported.
Seb has now admitted that a "minor injury" collision need not be reported if certain details are exchanged. As there is no distinction between minor or serious injury (including death) within Section 170, he is finally going to have to admit that I was right all the time. :beer:The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.
