It's the Waitrose BRANCH which needs to stock the product in order to use specific mocs (branded and internet are ok). It's not enough to ask on here which ones can I use - people need to get off their asses and check out the local waitrose for themselves or ring the manager and just ask. You can see what's coming can't you? Tearing the a* out of Waitrose policy so much so that they'll put a stop to it too. Please don't hand over wads of coupons at the waitrose checkout unless you've checked it's on the shelves in store otherwise w's won't get their money back. Some will say I've turned into bossy CM, but I don't care - this is too important to worry about who might disagree. Sorry CM, you know i love ya! xAgeing is inevitable - maturing is optional0

Tesco Accused of Being Pedigree Chumps as Dog Food Vouchers Used for Booze
Hundreds of shoppers have used dog food vouchers, meant to be redeemed against Pedigree dog food, to cash in on booze, clothes and even TVs in a blunder that is set to cost the supermarket thousands.
Pedigree had offered the vouchers online and the mess up is sure to cause both firms embarrassment.
The coupons, redeemable value of just shy of £7.00, were so lapse, customers found they could redeem them over and over again on any items of their choice.
News of the blunder spread and there was a run on the dodgy dog vouchers at stores in West Bromwich, Willenhall and Dudley, West Midlands.
Claire Hampson, 40, told The Sun newspaper: “I heard it from my neighbour and printed off a few vouchers. The stores were rammed with people buying booze, bed linen, TVs, you name it.
“People were laughing and joking. We thought it was a genuine offer.”
Tesco has launched an inquiry in to the blunder
this could also explain the situation folks;);)
Once again, the good folk on here did think there could be a problem with this one. But many users will have been the ones who heard of the policy via TV. You can tell from the quote, these were not regular coupon users.
Here's the story:-

Agreed, it's too important (it always was with Tesco too...). Everyone will have to go to their nearest Waitrose and CHECK what is stocked on their shelves. And ask how many coupons you can use (each store is different, mine only take 3).
I agree with Mad, we should all boycott Tesco if we can, say for the month of October. Shop elsewhere, find bargains and ways to use up some coupons, post our finds on this thread.
There has been talk of this change being a 4 week trial - so let's remove our business and write in to Sir Terry very politely, stating that we have voted with our feet because Tesco are not the cheapest unless we can use some genuine coupons as we always did. Happily admit to being a coupon-user who uses the internet and KNOWS about some of the abuse that was being reported, ask why they had to tar all coupon-users with the same brush with a blanket ban?
Let's all ask if they can please investigate the possibility of a middle ground, say 50% off using original or Couponnet/Couponsafe coupons only (not Coupon Smart - they were the Pedigree ones). Maybe newspaper & magazine coupons only if title bought, if these are also a problem?
We have a lot of knowledge about coupons, let's use it to best effect with intelligent suggestions to Sir Terry, all letters being posted en masse next week?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Dear Martin Lewis
FWIW - and I know you have the best intentions - I really think this is aimed in the wrong direction.
IMHO the blame lies with the scammers. The policy change was not a knee-jerk reaction to Martin's appearance, I am certain. Their policy was ALREADY being reviewed and the massive abuse of Pedigree/Archant coupons decided it.
The way to try to address the problem lies with writing to Sir Terry as above.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

cambridgeshire fiasco? did i miss somethin?Won't buy nuffink without a discount0 -
this is not Martins fault as far as I see it , its greed on the part of those who abused the system and killed the golden egg. Tesco allowed the use of coupons without buying the item as a bonus , it seems that due to the high levels of abuse they have made the decision NOT to do this any more. Its their right to only accept tokens only when you buy the items.
I have deleted posts in these threads before from people hosting copies of coupons on file hosting sites , about how to print multiple copies of coupons when you are only allowed to print 1 , about how to attempt to circumavigate couponnets technical limits on coupon printing , the list goes on ! . All of these are fraud and cost either the manufacturer or the store money
I'm going to move any posts complaning about Martin to the Vent area now , after that I will just remove them unless you post in the Vent threadEx forum ambassador

hi all,
phew......finally caught up. well, what a quick sad end it is. i totally agree with VOTING WITH YOUR FEET, hit mr.T where it hurts........just like they have hit us.
keep your spirits up folks, and lets hope this is just a temporary blip. give them time to re-group,and hope they re-instate their policy. after all, bully says her store is still taking them. maybe some managers will want to continue, as not all stores have had mass abuse.
see ya all at the GFS......looking forward to it. :T:Tkeep up the boycott folks......every little helps.0 -
