The snowmen are soooooooooo easy to do:D They are an ideal craft for kids. All I did was fill a mans trainer sock with rice to just below the openiing of the sock. Stitch the opening shut. Add a scarf and hat (could use felt or something to make them if you haven't got a knitted one;))Then glue on buttons for eyes and the(erm) buttons:D then I used a pom pom for the nose. Draw on a mouth by using a permenant marker and thats it!
For a no sew project for kids you can use a white ankle sock fill to just passed the heel, tie some yarn to close the top then fold excess back over to make the hat - someone posted the link to this method but I can't find it, will keep looking;)Feb GC £80 per week (Well I'm gunna try:whistle:)

yes you will need to use rice as this is really what makes them sit;) stuffing would definately be too light. Yes it's the scarf that creates the head when you pull it tight and strangle the poor snowman:D Thats why you need to add the hat and scarf before you do the face;)Feb GC £80 per week (Well I'm gunna try:whistle:)

Hi everyone!
I've just been admiring all your monkeys!! They're fabulous! I'm itching to have a go now, I made hampers, snowman soup & flannel reindeers last Christmas & was having a browse for this years inspiration, I think I've found my first project! But what do you stuff them with? Is it toy stuffing? If so, roughly for a pair of small socks, how much would I need? I know I might be asking how long is a piece of string! We've nowhere round here to buy crafty things so was looking on ebay & have no idea how much I might need. Thanks in advance!0 -
I use toy stuffing for mine:D I used to buy the small bags from hobby craft (250g I think) this would be enough for 2 monkeys but I do really like to stuff my monkeys;) Be careful with ebay I ordered a 1kg bag from there and it was awful stuff, kept going lumpy coudn't use it at all:mad: I now make sure I feel and touch the stuffing before I buy it even if it means "accidently" putting a hole in the bag so I can pull a piece out;)3tabbycats wrote: »Hi everyone!
