    Evening all

I find it very interesting the way people get so defensive over their choices not to recycle and the reasons behind it. It reminds me of defiant toddlers, you can't make me do it so I wont stamp stamp. To me it's simply about treading carefully on the earth when you can. A big part of getting the public to recycle is the 'feel good factor' they get from it. I guess not everybody gets it. It has amazed me how many of my parents generation has slowly come around to recycling and can be very evangelical about it. Still it's all about choices Iwouldn't bin a laptop, I'd see if it could be recommissioned for somebody else to use due to the resources inside it.

I didn't get to tidy the kitchen after dinner so will do that quickly now and then off to bed - sleep tight ladies.

Thanks Kaz - I think I know what is wrong with fluffy cat - when I looked it appears he has a cut on his lower eyelid and the swelling is below that. I've found some cat antibiotic eyecream so I'll give that a go tomorrow and Friday and it not take him to the vet on Saturday

Triker, huge hugs for you. I remember Mum railing against her illness for years, she couldn’t get her head around the fact that she was ill and rebelled against it at every opportunity, only to then have days in bed afterwards. I know this is a huge change for you and something that’s really tough to get used to. I remember spending hours in the 1990’s in doctors waiting rooms and going all over the country to various alternative health people/nutritionists etc who were going to “cure” mum, only for her to be crushed with disappointment when it didn’t work. Those years were tough for her and she is much happier now she’s come to terms with it and has learned how to pace herself so she does a little when she has energy and the energy lasts for longer instead of rushing about like a mad woman when she felt a bit energetic and then being really ill for ages after.

    Sorry for writing an essay

Thanks Rosepink, you really help me to understand. I am still in shock really and wake up hoping that I'll feel better, sadly even though its early days it isn't happening.

I suppose I'm thinking already of Plan B, re work and stuff. Everyone I've read or spoke to talk in terms of years rather than months or weeks. Luckily for me, there are people like you and your Mum who can pass on really useful info that may help my recovery. It must have been hard for you and your Mum Rosepink, hoping and then the 'cure' not happening. I'm sorry, its a cruel illness. xxxxxxxx

Thrifty - make it a double! I guess we've all been there! Have just read a fab book called Divas and Dictators by Charlie Taylor about children - it's great, worth seeing if the library has a copy!

I thought the same thing Johanne, as someone who is always on gumtree looking I come across many that look like Buckingham palace, and some with identical pics, or you get the away all the time, send a deposit lark.

    Goodluck Rosepink.
