If I remember correctly (I don't tend to buy them), for most oven chips they advise putting them on a preheated tray in the oven for best results. Preheating the oven for even 5 minutes would surely use more power than preheating the remoska?

The original Remoska thread is now nearly 5 years old, and going strong :T As it's now got so long, I thought we could have a new one :j
For more information on what can be done with a Remoska plus the possible energy savings have a look at the official Remoska website.

My mum gave me a Remoska at the weekend and told me to read the thread to get some ideas, (although I have to admit, I didn't fancy reading all 100 pages) - it's on my to do list!!
I made my first tea in mine tonight, Goulash and it was really yummy!! Can't wait to try tomorrows tea, we're having baked pasta with leak, I think!!0 -
Do you think it would be an idea to have a Remoska chat thread and a remoska recipes thread. I have one and have been put off reading it because it was too long, when what I really want to know is what people have successfully cooked.Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0

I cooked rice in mine this morning, to be reheated to go with chilli, also made in the Remoska, for dinner tonight. It makes really good rice that's light and fluffy. Just one cup of long grain rice to two cups of boiling water in an ovenproof bowl. Cook in the Remoska for around thirty minutes. I just dig a fork into the middle to check; if there's no liquid left, it's ready.KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

I use the Remoska all the time. It makes great roasted veg. I bought the shallow pan for oven chips, roasties and omelettes.
Can we have recipes on here with step by step guides?
