And yet you are drawn to the Remoska board - why? Not being confrontational, really just curious why you come on here to run down the Remoska?I think we have to accept the fact that some people will always prefer one or the other. That doesn't really make one better than the other, although the Remoska is much better!:rotfl:
When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0 -
i just wash stab and put pots in my remouska and bake for about an hour and they are good....a bit of salt and/or oil might help make them crispyonwards and upwards0

I'm thinking of getting a remoska for home and camping! Will beat my current camping gas ring!. Trouble is, for home I'd like the large one and for camping I'm sure the standard one would be fine. Really, how useful is it for camping?

Because I bought one based on reading this thread and how people cook everything in them. After buying one I found that it was not the wonder cooker people said it was.retiredlady wrote: »I think we have to accept the fact that some people will always prefer one or the other. I will accept that the last line of my previous post was personal opinion, but the rest of the post was fact.retiredlady wrote: »although the Remoska is much better!:rotfl:
In what way is the remoska better?
I am curious as I own and have used both many times and, apart from the fact that you can put the lid on the bench upside down, there is nothing better about the remoska.0 -

I never really used my oven, (as i have a combi microwave), but I had one of those halogen ovens and gave it away on freecycle. The remoska is soooooo much more versatile.
In what way is it more versatile? What can you do with a remoska that you can't do in a halogen oven?0 -
Hi.
Would like to put my 2 pennyworth in about remoska and halogen.
I have had mine since October and I have only used my oven twice since then, Christmas and New Year. There are two of us and I have the grande. I use it every day, all meals that would have been cooked in oven have worked well in Remoska. I make bread every other day, make cakes, scones, pies, roast potatoes are gorgeous, as are all roasts. Tip for the roast potatoes, parboil, drain, put about 1 tbsp semolina and shake well, lovely crispy potatoes every time.
The only complaint I had was the lid always looked burnt, bar keepers cleaner sold in Lakeland soon cleans the lid.
Hope this helps. I have also got a Halogen but not as happy with that.
I also bought a steam oven, but that is another story.
Willis. If you buy a remoska Lakeland will give you a full refund if you are not a 100 % happy with it. No questions asked

I love my remoskas...
The gas oven has only gone on twice in the 8 months that I have had them :T and that was hubby doing pizza when I was in hospital
I cook every day and haven't yet found one thing that the remoska doesn't make better than the gas guzzling oven....
It is the best appliance(s) in my kitchen....poor old mincer/sausage maker has been knocked off the top spot :rotfl: ...
pasta bakes -no sticking like they do in the oven
bread -just as nice as in the oven
jackets -lovely n crisp -minus the oil
and super crispy roasties
better yorky pud than I have ever done ...... and these are just a few of the many things I have done so far-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Hi Geordie Joe,
I just think the food tastes better when cooked in the remoska. I suppose it is a matter of taste, Along with the remoska I use an induction hob so hopefully will save on fuel bills.

Another triumph for the Remoska: I am currently on a very restrictive diet prior to surgery, and do not want to be in the kitchen at all. OH hasn't cooked anything in the past 36 years (yes, I know, my fault I spoilt him) and I am now making him do his own meals. He was a bit scared and grumpy and talking about going to Mr T to buy many 'ready meals' but I have introduced him to the Moska, and recipes which have a layer of veg and then the meat on top are proving a BIG success, and he's starting to enjoy being able to make something nice without my help (just a bit of advice shouted from elsewhere in the house now and then). On sunday he'll be doing a roast chicken for the first time and I'm sure it will be delicious. Hoorah for the Moska - I'm sure he wouldn't have been so successful with 'ordinary' cooking ! (and I think he might have found a halogen oven too much of a challenge too) Remoskas are GREAT !! But each to their own, eh ?0
