christmasshopper...sounds like normal at our house! I struggle to remember more than 3 things at a time unless I've done it plenty of times before or I write it down. I tend to get sidetracked which means everything goes out of the window. Or I put things down not realising it which means I then loose them! For example of magnetic door opener I lost this morning and I knew I'd had it before. After looking in all the places it usually is I had to retrace my steps to where I'd been in the house and finally found it on my desk. We mostly have problems when I tell the children to put their homework in their bags, but if they get sidetracked then they put it anywhere and if I don't see it I don't remember to check and then it's mad panic trying to find things! I think it's all about getting into a routine.

serena...the word remembering doesn't get better, more than once I've asked for the thing on the worktop you put water in for coffee :D Or the thing you have above your head when it's raining!

Anyway been for a walk with DD2 and the dog, now thinking about lunch. Then I can put her up for a nap and get on with the lounge :)

  • Serena thank you so much for your advise. DD does have a homework drawer but I just checked and there is make-up in there. When she gets home from school I will help her to sort it out.
DD moved up to middle school a year ago. She was seen by the educational psychologist at her previous school who said she had suspected dyslexia. They found that she is a tactile learner and learns by touching and feeling things. She learned her alphabet with furry and sandpaper letters. Now she is a fabulous reader and reads at least a book a week.
I asked the special needs teacher if she needs a test to say one way or the other if she does have dyslexia. I was told it wouldn't make any difference to put a name to her dificulties. I'm wondering if I ought to pursue this.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in. :D

Just done dailies this morning.then went for eye test. Met DD to go shopping and managed to get pressie for work bran tub.

You can tell its getting near xmas the purse snatchers were out and a couple with a child were shop lifting in Iceland. The staff saw them but they dumped the stuff and had the nerve to come to the till with a few items in the basket. They must have realised people knew as my DD had seen them. But stood there bold as brass. We couldnt believe it when we saw them drive away in a Rover. My DD is always telling me to watch my purse and points out who they are. The shopkeepers have quite a good system to let each other know whats happening.

Had a poor sleep last night so off to bed shortly as Im night shift.

    Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Someone just came round to have a quick look at dad's van which was fine. I come back in to find DD2 has stuck soup all in her hair, it's plastered with chicken soup! Then I cut her some plum so she can have it whilst she's messy before I bath her and slice my finger

Please let there be no third thing!

    Afternoon all,

I'm posting my list again so i can find it.

I've been to Toddlers and Ds2 was so naughty:mad: he kept pushing all the other kids out of the way so he could play with stuff:o . I bought him sweets this morning when i got the bread and milk for toddlers. I said he could have them after toddlers if he was good, he wasn't so he didn't have them. He then had the most almighty tantrum:rolleyes: .
