They have done the same to a friend of mine, charged her for 14 months in the last twelve:-

Mar 16 - 4 weeks;
April 15 - 4 weeks 2 days;
May 15 - 4 weeks 2 days;
June 12 - 4 weeks;
July 6 - 3 weeks 3 days;
Aug 3 - 4 weeks;
Aug 27 - 3 weeks 3 days;
Sept 22 - 3 weeks 5 days;
Oct 16 - 3 weeks 3 days;
Nov 10 - 3 weeks 4 days;
Nov 25 - 2 weeks 1 day;
Dec 20 - 3 weeks 4 days;
Jan 10 - 3 weeks.
They are probably doing this to everyone, is this theft?

Why didn't she complain? I had a similar problem (twice) but they sorted it for me - although I still keep a close eye on the DD dates.0

Do not worry she is complaining to them.

Hi all,
It's me again,
F4 have recently overcharged me as well. They debited my account 14 times in 2005, and they double debited my account in May 2004.
I raised concerns in 2004 about the double debiting, and F4 asked me to send in a copy of my bank statement to prove that they had indeed taken two payments in one month.
I refused on the grounds that as they had taken two payments, the extra payment would undoubtedly be on their records.
I raised concerns about two weeks ago about the fact that they had taken 14 payments in 2005.
This time they did not ask me to prove that there had been a mistake on their part.
In both instances they reset my next payment date. This means that to correct the two extra payments that I have made in 2005, they will not debit my account until April of this year.
Needless to say, I will be keeping a close eye on my payments to F4 this year.
I would also say that their customer services were very quick to reply to my enquiry to them. I contacted them using the member services area on the F4 website.
All in all, I am pleased with the outcome and the speed of their response.

With so many complaints of overcharging over so long a period you would think Fast4 would have fixed their system by now.
I wonder how many people haven't even noticed.0 -
They have an odd system even when it's working properly! Despite describing it as 'monthly billing', they actually charge one every 30 days (something to do with avoiding problems for payment dates at the end of the month...).
I've never understood the logic of this as all my other suppliers (eg electricity, gas etc) seem to have no problem charging me on a set day of the month, every month. I've raised the question of the legality of their arrangement in this forum before.
Having said that, for me the system seems to have settled down recently - although, reading the above, not everyone is so lucky.
You certainly do need to watch the dates they bill you on, but that's where the emails that they send you before and after billing are quite helpful!0 -
Thanks Fortyfoot
I checked my statement and found Fast 4 had taken 14 so-called monthly payments in less than a year (I joined last February) so even my maths calculate 14 into 12 wont go! I shall transfer payment from credit card to direct debit and monitor future activity.

Tried the Fast 4 website but didn't like their 'contact us' method so decided to ring instead. Answered straight away, stated my case and was told the next payment would not be taken until 16 April. Full of apologies. said they had had problems and were not aware of how many were affected! So I am well pleased!
Think I might stay with the credit card method though as I intend to apply for a Cash Back card - just need to check Martin's recommendations!
Cheers

I am pleased to say that I have had a letter from them advising me that no further payments will be taken from my account and my contract will be terminated. No additional payments have been taken so far.
If I decide to return to them they will arrange a special offer for me as "a returning customer". They also advised me of their broadband package which starts at "just £9.98 per month for a 8MB package", plus other additional perks!
