((hugs)) over the job situation Plum Pie
left over meat? something else we rarely haveonly times we have recently have been when I've done a bacon joint (used up in butties or rissotto) or a chicken (then split to do full meals - 2 chickens gave 2 roasts, a salad, a curry, a rissotto, and a C&M pie all for 3 people, and enchilladas for 4, and I still have enough in the freezer for another full meal for 3 or 4 people.
but I do have a couple of joints in the freezer will need using soon, so that hash thing could come in useful thanksCheryl0 -

Yes, I have! I want free vitamin C! I want to make blackberry vodka!
Luckily the quinces I got from Freecycle yesterday smell divine and I got 12!!!! (I asked for 4 or more.) I can't wait to use them.

Blackberries aren't good this time of year, I noticed some brambles poking over the fence into the communal garden so I went and picked some - they tasted as though the devil had spat on them:eek: they were quite small too.
Well the slow roast has been put on..so its cooking away slowly for a few hours.:D0 -
hi weezl ,you havent posted for a couple of day's
i hope all is ok with you and baby bump0 -
Evening weezl and weezlites !
Hope everyone has had a good day? I did manage to get my wages sorted - they thought I'd been off sick since 16th july (hence the half pay) !!!!! Simple to rectify and all done. Rest of wages should be through by Friday - bonus is though that I was underpaid in August too (I didn't notice because I think I got a payrise which was backdated) so I've got a few extra pennies this month !
Plum Pie ... sorry to hear about your job xx
Righty Ho ....... i've been and done it (the nappy cake that is !) and here's the finished product ..... i'm rather chuffed with it ...... just hope my cousin is too ! DD helped me as well (she's moaning because I forgot to say that bit !)

morning all,
I've been a bit quiet because my internet connection has been very temperamental and frustrating!!
I'm gonna have a go at doing a bit more indexing as I feel a bit less shattered and nauseous now!:T
Perhaps I shouldn't have said that in case I don't manage it
Here's another recipe for me to index:
Mr Weezl's Tomato and bacon pasta: makes 16 generous servings (I mean it!)
5 packs value spaghetti
1 pack smartprice bacon pieces, chopped into tiny bits
2 little cans tom puree
5 cans plum toms, chopped
veg oil, approx 75ml
half teaspoon chilli powder
Fry everything else together while the spaghetti boils, you'll need enormous pans!
add the pasta to the sauce with tongs and stir til the pasta is all coated with the tomatoey sauce.
next time I'm going to freeze the pasta sauce in tiny tubs, rather than mix with the pasta then freezing it. Mr W claims it's still lovely, but it all seems to stick together a bit much!
25p per serving, contains 2 of your 5 a day veg servings.
I may be some time!!!!

I was intrigued as to what a nappy cake was. I thought it was a design for an edible cake that looked like nappies or something, but from your picture it looks like actual nappies and other baby stuff - is that right? If so, it's a lovely way of presenting baby gifts that make them even more special.
Plum Pie, sorry to hear about your job, that's the trouble with temporary work, it's sometimes unreliable. I'm sure you'll find something else soon - good luck with the hunt0 -
sorry to interrupt, need to add an extra index category!
