Dell Inspiron 1300 1.4GHz Celeron DVDRW laptop £339 shipped! (CLOSED)

Options
just spotted this over on HotUKDeals bargain forum so I take no credit for finding it !

http://www.hotukdeals.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=2994&ez=2

quote from the forum:-

This is one of the deals in Dell's today only sale and to put it bluntly it is the cheapest, best value laptop in the UK. You cannot get specs like this for this price anywhere. It sounds like a hard sell but it's true!

Two upgrades I would recommend on this one is upgrade to the 6 Cell 56Whr for £11.75 and the screen up to 15.1" widescreen for £35. The battery upgrade is cheap as chips and will give you a much better battery with longer battery life. The screen upgrade is just for more viewing space.

Features:
Celeron 1.4Ghz
14.1" Widescreen Display
256MB RAM, 40GB,
nternal 8X DVD+/-RW Drive
802.11b/g Wireless Enabled
Windows XP Home Edition
1 Year Collect and Return Warranty.

  • I think you'd need a min of 512MB to get a decent performance, but get extra memory from Crucial

  • Ordered the 1.4 model last week and got it 3 days later ...itdoes have ethernet..nice unit (a little bit big but blimey it's cheap). Would stick to the v.basic model (unless you want a larger screen) and worry about upgrades later...
