The Great "What Women Want For Christmas Under £75 Bargain" Hunt.
Last week I asked men to say what they wanted for Christmas/Chanucah and also where the cheapest place to buy it was. This week it's the turn of the women.
Hopefully this way it'll provide research and information for MoneySaving men. Add yours/read others.

What counts?
Any gift you're interested in would be great. Even better if you know where to source it cheaply and it's a bargain. Don't feel it needs to be at or near £75. If it's a cheaper bargain then please feel free

personally everything i want is under £75!!
what i would really like is someone to do my housework / washing up etc. especially as had ceasarian on wednesday! i think most women would appreciate some help & acknowledgement of how much we do in the house rather than £75 of stuff. i could be wrong.
please do not buy anything for the house such as a vacuum cleaner unless it is specifically asked for. my mum made my dad return it.
pampering gifts are always good - vouchers for manicures, facials etc. that are only for you & not bought cos hubby really wanted it - e.g a digital camera that he has been after for ages! (didn't take long for it to be referred to as daddy's camera by DS even though was my pressie!)Cleaning the house while children are growing is like shovelling snow when it's still snowing!0 -
Thing: A camel
Bargain Price: only £75
Cheapest place to get it: www.goodgifts.org
Who it's suitable for: Nomadic pastoralists who eke existences by following the rain through Ethiopia, Somalia and Somaliland depend on them for food, transport and income.
Any other info: The nomads get the camel, your giftee gets a card and a warm feeling. Camels are delivered by Vetaid.
This concept isnt intrinsically female-friendly but all the women I've mentioned it to have gone "awww" and all the men have gone "huh."
Other "good gifts" on this site include bikes for midwives in developing countries (£35), new baby parcel for needy mothers in the UK (£25), bag of medicines for a vet in Africa (£45) etc.0 -

Interesting idea but a bit far out...
The following from the same site could prove to be a popular stocking filler though:
Thing: endangered seeds
Price: 12 squids
Who's it suitable for: Someone with a saucy sense of humour !5040 - ADOPT-A-VEGETABLE £12.00
For people with taste
Commercial pressures threaten many vegetable varieties with extinction. Stay execution by adopting a veg (as many as you like) for a year, and keep them safe in the seed bank. Choose from dozens of intriguing names: Ernie's Big Eye (a dwarf French bean), Lady Godiva (a squash), Uncle Bert's Purple (a kale). And, if you’re feeling exceptionally protective and adventurous, what about adopting a mixed salad of rare tomato, lettuce, cucumber, radish and celery varieties?EGG are a bunch of complete bankers!0 -
some lovely pj's, a luxourious new dressing gown and some PEACE AND QUIET!
lots of good books out :Thud by terry pratchett, Predator by patricia cornwall, zadie smith has a new one out too.
lee evans xl tour dvd
I haven't put links as prices change xx0 -
I think this would fit in at under £75
a bottle of champagne were it not that I had a case from tesco as it was half price! Cava would do and thats cheap in Iceland or tesco.
a box of chocs (delivered by a man on skis in a black polo neck so much the better) (leicester market - you can get a nice one for a couple of quid)
a freezer full of meat, for example half a lamb, or else some game such as venison or pigeons. Pigeons are about £1.50 each, half a lamb is about £30 to £40.
I don't really want many 'things' though the prodigy cd is on my list, and the white stripes cd.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

What my mum really enjoyed is a voucher for tea at the Ritz. A bit pricey at £70 but quality time with mum is priceless. Only cost me £60 last year so if you can get it for less please let me know http://www.theritzlondon.com/vouchers/shop.asp#vouchers0
