Does anyone have a list of Merlin stockists for the Dr Who album? My stickers were missing from my newspaper and the newsagent told me that I could only get the stickers from a Merlin shop - both I and my child were expecting them to be in the paper - result - one disappointed child!!

Waitrose stores each have their own coupon-limit. So some will allow 10%, 30% or maybe more paid in coupons, without buying the products (but the store HAS to stock the product so it can take some time at the till whilst they check each and every one!).

    But LittleBill...no 'explosion' from me!...:D

Hi Coupon' .. Hi All ...

Is it safe to come out from behind the bike sheds now? ... :o

Seriously ... there is always a way to use coupons appropriately ... at last count ... up to the point I had stopped counting at about 18 months ... I had saved £2500 with coupons ... I have never used a Self Scan ... I have never used an 'other' store coupon ... I have simply read the threads and bought the papers/products/mags etc ... and shopped appropriately ...

It can be done without resorting to crossing the line and putting the whole sh'bang out of action for everyone ... The short term gain argument has been fielded here on many occasions .. and I will not bore you with a repeat ... but those who seem to stake so much on this couponog should think out of the box a little ... ;)

'My' Waitrose accepts 6 ... up to any limit ... I have a till receipt on my notice board (for prosperity) that shows a 0 balance ... I only spent £12's or so but it was a first ... Waitrose are so polite about it too ... even if they have to query a coupon or check a product ... they apologize ... :D ... so much nicer than the Tescolditz SS ...

    LB

PS .. I'm loads bigger when I stand on my soapbox y'know ... :rotfl:

Yep, you're right!!! Now how do we convince them to give us back £1.98 (for the first purchase of 99p and for the extra 99p the coupon came up on)?

    Rubbish...

    Hi everyone,

sorry for barging in. I don't even use coupons for stuff I'm not buying, but still I keep reading this discussion every time the book token shows up. But because it is a daily thread, the discussion is repeated, the point is missed (that is, Tesco does not participate in the book token scheme, so they can't redeem the coupon. often it scans, but this is costing them money so they may end up blocking ALL coupons. So some people ask other to think for the long term on coupon usage and stop using this coupon at tescos!). This is a typical free riding problem!! the collective good is for no one to abuse this, so that the coupon-no-purchase system works indefinitely versus the short term gain of those who use the coupon now and ruin the odds that all other legit coupons will be usable.

But I just wanted to suggest, a sticky thread on this so that people don't ask the same questions again and again (I also asked it once, since I was simply reading between the lines that this was being done). And this can even be a money moral dilemma for :money: Martin's email!! So everyone can share their opinion all in one place. And quoia can add a link to this discussion everytime is is relevant!!

And don't get me wrong, I don't mind reading this, and that is not why I am suggesting this. It's just that some of you may feel really frustrated by blatant misuse of the coupon. Also, skibster has asked what I have also wondered many times: can you use the book token for the actual book when it is already discounted? Otherwise, what is the use of the token, since you can always get it cheaper online?? And this question is yet unanswered since everyone is discussing the usage or misuse at tescos.

PS: quoia does such a wonderful job at organizing this daily thread, as we saw when she went on holiday!! :p. Has she ever been nominated for the post of the month? It is not a post but a series. I've just nominated her, but not sure if the "series of posts" qualifies.

Well, I couldn't find a DM anywhere last night, all stores sold out.

First time in ages that I managed to get a magazine coupon accepted at Asda, which was more than 10% of my total spend. Usually supervisor treats me as though I'm a child molester let out of jail early if coupon is so much as 1 pence over 10% rule.

I have a Waitrose local to me - where I have never used a coupon. I will have to be brave and ask if they will accept any.;)

The abuse of coupons is Tesco's responsibility alone - they are the ones who are happy to accept coupons as cash, then abuse the coupon issuer by claiming (should really be stealing) the cash back off them by redeeming the coupons.

How can we coupon users possibly be guilty of abusing a system that is itself an abuse, and only exists thanks to greedy supermarkets abusing the manufacturers. (Who must be too scared of getting banned by Tescos or would surely take action to stop the abuse they allow, which is clearly against the written ts + cs on every coupon that Tesco happily accept).
