Dear Denise,
Thanks for the hugs, its ok he is as we speak siging on with an agency but its just the uncertainty of it, it has been on the horizon for a while, still always a shock when it arrives. (money etc) But thanks for your support, will just have to manage on one wage for a while. Dink1
I know what you mean. My hubby works in construction and you never know one job to the next - only by the rumour machine. He usually gets something quite quickly, but again, only for a few months, so always worrying just in case. Hope your OH's work stays regular for you.

Hi All,
Last night converted my family allowance into euros and it was just more than my target for this month so that's my motivation.
Have taken DD9,DD8,Friend9 to school,DS4 to Nursery.Done fitball and pilates class, recycled papers and shopped in 3 different stores all before lunch.
Juggled the fridge, made room in freezer, popped a chicken in,made Twinks mixture, boiled potatoes to roast with the chicken to freeze and sorted next load of ebay item's to photograph.
My total spend was 42.52 euros = £33.73:T
Didn't get pasta as it's not on this weeks menu, sweetcorn too expensive / out of stock.
Did get butter 99c,sugar 85c,1kg strawbs for 2 euros and large jar of pesto 99c (lifesaver in our house)
So I'll get on and pop the Twinks in,roast off the potatoes and freeze, dissect the chicken once cooked and make soup and stock.
I have joined Lightspeed and done 2 surveys, another one to go with my cuppa.
And I've lost another lb but can't chart it till Saturday as thats weigh day on my chart.....Only 11lbs to goal.Haven't been there for 24.5 years so here goes!!!!!!!:rotfl:
Will have a go at changing my signature ,water my potio, declutter the car and do a bit of admin.
HAVE A GREAT DAY Y'ALL.ITS SUNNY HERE,ITS MEANT TO BE!!!!!!!!

Dink - sorry to hear your news - hope something turns up soon.
Re the washing soda question - I use soap nuts bought on the internet from inasopanutshell.com - a big bag for £7.99. You need about 6 or 7 per wash load and if you wash at 40C or less then they last for about 3 or 4 washes. I add a few drops of essential oil to the soap dispenser drawer to make it all smell nice but don't use fabric conditioner. I put a tsp of baking powder in the bag with the nuts if I am doing a white load as this helps brighten the whites - but over time the whites definitely don't look as good as with bio powder - but I am prepared to put up with that as it is cheap and more environmentally friendly. Do you think I could add soda crystals as well or wouldn't it help?
I have successfully been cutting my dishwasher tabs in half following a recommendation on here and have had no probs - so perhaps those of you with laundry tabs to use up could try this - only if you are in a softish water area though. (Mind you its a hard water area where I live and cutting the dw ones works fine).

Have an inkling of where youre at Dink, my OH got made redundant on friday out of the blue, seems to be a lot of it about. On the upside he seems quite motivated to look for something else so fingers crossed. ((hugs)) if you need them. Think I found these boards just in time.Eat food, not edible food-like items. Mostly plants.0

Dink - :grouphug: Hope DH finsd something soon, was in similar spot 4/5 years ago DH was working for his brother he didn't get paid regularly and brother took the P so DH walked out and went self employed. 4 years later we are financially worse off than ever, DH is no longer self employed and is back working for his brother!! Things are looking up though.
Annelouise - Whereabouts in Spain are you if you don't mind me asking. My dad has a villa in Mazzaron (don't think spelt it right!) and it is gorgeous over there most of the year - although I haven't been for about 5 years now!!
Anyone got an answer for my plea earlier about how to use chicken carcuss to make soup???Banana LoversBuy your bananas in bunches of 5 on Sunday. Then arrange them in order of ripeness and write a day of the week on each banana in felt pen, Monday on the ripest, Friday on the greenest to save time making those decisions on a hectic weekday morning0 -
chins up all you lovely people, i'm sure some work will turn up for you all. I have the opposite problem, nice employer but they wont take on more staff so everyone always being asked to do extra. Ok when you need the money but a pain when you are tired and feel obliged to help out. still a jobs a job these days, think they all have ups and downs with them. Just keeping doing the challenge, it all helps.
