Well Keira was crawling at 7months, cruising at 8 months and walking at 9months. She used a babywalker, you just have to lower it so they aren't on tip toes, and their feet are flat.

Does that mean that Keira should of been walking at 7months because it stunted her development? :rotfl:

I hate those stupid links, hence why I never go on baby websites, it's full of nonsense. Useless statistics that have no evidence to back it up.

Cazscoob.. Is there something in his cot or sleepsuit.. a ribbon on a blanket? a cuff of a sleepsuit? an ear on a teddy bear or something that he might be sucking when noone notices? It is probably something really silly.. a piece of paper he can reach with a picture on?
he is on a special milk and his breath smells really bad, we were thinking it could be a side affect. the milk is man made as he is allergic to milk proteins and other things? just thought id ask here incase it was soemthing we hadnt thought of? dont think its from a toy etc as she has looked and there doesnt seem to be anything?

Apparently black tongues can be a sign of thrush or just a buildup of grubbiness caused by babies putting all manner of stuff in their mouths :)

Molly's been clingy and whingy all day, I hope it's just teeth and she doesn't have the same sicky feelings I do. If I have food poisoning can she get the symptoms from my milk?
No she won't get sypmtoms, but I did mean to mention to you ealier... Make sure you keep yourself well hydrated... Dehydration affects supply...
    Just read an interesting article:

What does everyone else think about baby walkers?
I wouldn't have one... My philosophy is, if a baby wants to get to something then it needs to put the effort in... Also... You'd need pretty clear floors for the baby to move around and there are never any clear floors in this house...

Incidentally, I can remember my Dad telling me the dangers (stairs and hot drinks) when Aimee was a baby...

But then he also told me if I didn't burp her she'd get gastro...

So he's full of non-researched advice...

Oh yeah, and my friends Ex used to take his daughters babywalker everywhere they went... She spent an awful lot of time wedged in it and didn't walk until she was nearly 2...
Searching - Izzy has frozen veg. She used to have it pureed, but now she will quite happily eat frozen peas straight out of the bag (I hasten to add this isn't the way I normally give them to her - I'm not quite that lazy :rotfl:)
Aimee loves 'cold peas'!!! I tend to nuke Caitlyns for ten seconds in the microwave first ;)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

My DS had a baby walker, just a cheap one, and wasn't in it much cos he used to go flying across the laminate flooring :rotfl: (and i got sick of my ankles being battered)

He had a VTech push along one too but rarely pushed it. He walked properly by 12-13 months.

Keira had that Vtech thing, still annoys me to this day.

"Hello puppy calling do you want to play with me, let's have fun together while we learn our ABCS"

    RED TRIANGLE

    GREEN SQUARE

    WOOF WOOF

    TWINKLE TWINKLE

    ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH

Keira is badly constipated, and omg she just ate some chilli WITH a cup of milk, it's almost like she is eating like a normal person *Swoon* anyways, her sleep pattern is out of whack because she is ill, she keeps dozing off during the day, and now she is sat on the toilet tryin to get her poop out and is shouting through

    *Do i have diarrehea mum?"

    "Is it water?"

    "No, it's stuck"

"well your constipated then, you just need to have some more fruit and orange juice"

"What you mean put it up my bum so the poopy comes out"

    "Uhmmm no....."
  • Walkers - Katie had one but only used it when for short periods, I just adjusted the seat so her feet were flat.

I don't think it did her any harm she used it from the age of 8 - 11 months when she started walking.

Katie loves frozen peas and sweetcorn - really handy as I just nuke 'em and they're done.
Proud to be dealing with my debts
    DD Katie born April 2007!
3 years 9 months and proud of it

Has anyone tried those Tetley Redbush teabags?? Are they just tea or like herbal?

Anything like Earl Grey? I only like Tea with milk in, love Earl Grey.
Redbush (or Rooibos) is a Tisane which means it is like tea (and used in the same way) but isn't because it isn't the right species to officially be tea. It's not really like Earl Grey (which is china tea with oil of bergamot) - it's more like regular tea which tastes a bit funny. It's very popular in South Africa (which is where it comes from) and is mainly drunk because it is a naturally caffeine free alternative to tea. I always drink it with milk in although I also drink china teas with milk and you are not "supposed" to.
    Hi guys

I can see possible usefulness of them if used sensibly but not enough to be worth buying one.

Seth has one and he loves it. I fail to see how they are dangerous and cause injuries though, I think the article has gone a bit OTT on that bit TBH. A bit of an odd quote:

Besides the added dangers of moving faster, falling farther and reaching higher, babies who use walkers learn to crawl, stand and walk later than they would have otherwise, how can they prove this? Babies will do these things when they are ready, you cant look at a baby and say "they will be walking in xx amount of days if it wasnt for the walker" and continue to show delayed motor development for months after they have learned to walk. The delay seems to be a little more than three days for every 24 hours of total walker use. Again, how can they prove this?
They do it by looking at the overall population and averages. So say the average child walks at x days old then they study children who used baby walkers and look at how long they used the walkers for and what age they walked at. It doesn't mean that every individual child walked 3 days later per 24 hours of use but that on average they did. So say if you had 100 children who didn't use a baby walker and 100 children who used a baby walker for 48 hours, presumably if the average age of walking for the non-walker group was x days then the average age of walking for the walker group would have been x+6 days. Everything has risks and benefits though so it is a case of minimising risks and deciding whether the benefits outweigh the risks in your own circumstances (which obviously in your case they did).
