Recipe for rice crispy traybake?

DS is off to Scout camp this weekend. I've offered to bake him something to take to share. At the ripe old age of 12  he's asked for rice crispy buns, but made in a tin and cut into squares. Apparently, bun cases aren't cool
My crispy buns are yummy, but tend not to hold together well (hence the bun case).
I've searched but can't find such a recipe. Can anyone help?
Thank you all! Penny. x

Make it with melted mars bars instead of chocolateMFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740

I often use melted mars bars/asda mightys/aldi titans - the caramel and nougat helps it all stick together!:j0

or you can add a bit of golden syrup too! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
white choc layer
2oz butter
1 tbl sp golden syrup
5 1/2 oz white choc
1 3/4 oz rice crispies
plain/ milk choc layer
2 oz butter
2 tbl sp golden syrup
4 1/2 oz choc
2 3/4 oz rice crispies
method
grease a 8 inch square cake tin and line with baking paper
to make white layer
melt the white choc, butter and g/s over a pan of simmering water, remove from heat when all melted then add cereal, press into prepared tin and smooth the surface
do the same for the plain choc layer
chill in the fridge until hardened
lift out of tin and using a sharp knife cut into pieces
i usualy use margerine for this or block stork and it works just as well0 -
Marshmallows are a good substitute for some of the butter/marg and sugar. They are v good binding material when melted! (And cut some of the fat - Not an issue for most 12 yr old boys, I grant you!)0

I use 4 oz butter, 4 oz toffee and 4 oz marshmallows melted together in a bowl over hot water. Then add 4-6 oz rice crispies.0
