It has been brought to my attention that many users miss the thread about Tesco misprices that was previously located on Grabbit. Therefore I have started this thread to try and regain the important information previously enjoyed by the old thread that was one of the most popular threads:

This thread is only for posting any misprices you find at Tescos.

Please feel free to use this thread for discussion of the policy or any other discussions as this will help others to understand what it is all about and join in.

For information purposes:

For clarification SEL stands for Shelf Edge Label, R & R stands for Refund & Retain, DTD stands for Double the Difference

As a starter I had a very good DTD at Tesco a few days ago:

Linoti Pinot Grigio SEL £3.99 scanned at £7.99, purchased 6 bottles and charged £47.94. Should have been £23.94 so I was overcharged £24 so after claiming DTD refunded £48 and walked away with 6 bottles of wine.

The SEL was out of date but Tesco will honour as there is a Tesco Promise board located near customer service. The is a paragraph that states " if we charge you more than the price displayed we will refund you double the difference "

    Another DTD: Tesco own brand long handled squeeze floor mop: out of date SEL £3.73 scans at £4.97. So DTD £2.48 ( £4.97 - £3.73= £1.24 x 2 = £2.48 ).

The SEL on the items that are hung up are often missed when the offer goes out of date.

Do they still honor DTD if the sel is out of date??

Yes they should do as their policy which is in writing near most customer service desks states "if you are charged more than the shelf price we will hapily give you double the difference".

I have had many on the basis that the SEL is out of date and there is no small print stating out of date labels are excluded.

If required sk them to confirm with customer services in Dundee and they should always side with the customer

    Found on another thread, quote;

Energy saving Lightbulbs £1.96 each or 4 for £1.96

    Hi all

    MISPRICE ALERT!!

I got these light bulbs in Inverness Tesco last week and the 4 for £1.96 didn't show on receipt - got charged 4 x £1.96.SO, did my first cheeky MSE shop, and went round again and bought 4 more (tempted but too embarrassed to fill trolley) and it did the same thing, so went to customer service and got the overcharged deal.Ended up getting paid £19.60 to take away 8 great light bulbs - thanks Mr T and all MSE'ers, for this, and for all who've helped me over the past few years.Nice one!!!!

Might be worth a try in other stores??!!

    Nor mine...

I have found that Mr T has become much better at acting quickly to rectify pricing errors, and that generally it's only worth looking at DTDs which occurred within the last 24 hours (except for OOD SELs)

Not so good for grabbing a bargain, but at least they are taking their responsibilites a bit more seriously.
