Static in clothes

I have a pair of wide leg polyester trousers (they are nice, honest), I dry them either on the line or in the house. I DON'T use a tumble drier.
They are full of static and I get electric shocks when I walk passed something metal and they stick to my legs like drain pipe trousers, they're driving me mad :mad:
Anyone know of any cures to reduce static in washing (I don't own a tumble drier so I can't use bounce sheets). I use vinegar as softner in my washing so shock, horror, it looks like vinegar won't cure it :eek:. If vinegar won't work I don't know what to try. Anyone got any ideas?

try when you iron only going in one direction helps me. i hate static in clothes,, drives me mad.

My grandmother used to tell me to use metal coat hangers to prevent static in clothes, and she would run trousers through a metal coat hanger before putting them on.
Must say i never had static in any of my clothes then, but couldnt say whether its an old wives tale or not but it did seem to work :rolleyes:Nobody can make you feel inferior, without your permission

I have looked at the mega index but I can't find an answer to this....
Just been out and bought the DD's some new dresses but when they tried them on they stuck to them!
Any ideas of how to stop them beeing so full of static?
The dresses are made of Polyester and Nylon (probably why they are so static!)

Try lightly ironing them. I had trousers like this once. I found washing them without fabric conditioner made them clingy.0

A friend of mine swears by rubbing the inside of clingy static clothes with a sheet of bounce.

A short lenght of chain attached to your DD and left to drape on the floor will cure this problem, you used to see it all the time on older cars! :rotfl:The quicker you fall behind, the longer you have to catch up...0
