Any parent who buys one of these for their kids needs shooting.
Only when the last tree has died
and the last river has been poisoned
and the last fish has been caught
will we realise we cannot eat money
  • I agree. The police are seizing thousands and crushing them if they are used in public places, parks, roads etc,,,,BBC news 2-08-06.

I had the same views when i saw this thread, but this one appears to be battery operated so hardly the 60mph as in the BBC News' website Report

Calm down. It's August and news stories are short on the ground. The BBC have just caught a bit of "Daily Mail Fever" on this one.
The OP posted a genuine bargain which, used properly, would be great for budding Carl Foggerteys.
Nearly all great motorcycle racers started very young; fortunately their parents weren't shot.
    Can I help?

I got one of these for Christmas for my son from Kays, with the 30% discount I got it for just under £70. It is battery powered but people do mistake it for a petrol one. You get about 10mph tops, I only let my son on it in the park just in case he hits a car, they are very small though. He is only 5 and he looks big on it, It says 8+ on the box but I would say it would be best for 5/7 years old.

This one would still require tax insurence lights number plates etc in a public place so only if you have a big garden!

Good bargain but don't buy it. With the current ASB obsession any kid riding this is going to be in for loads of stick.

I know the real ones are the problem b ut Joe Public isn't going to know the difference.

Are you sure - if so that must apply to electric go-karts too? Do you have a link to the legislation?

(I was going to suggest electric buggies for disabled people as well, but they would have an exemption anyway).

Edit: A quick search, shows you are indeed correct! http://www.atob.org.uk/electric_legal_.htm
