Feeling so lonely

Options
Evening all.

Sorry if I bring anyone down... But I'm feeling terrible.

I've had a blazing row with my Mother who is being unreasonable in my opinion, I still have loads of debt and still can't really face it, I am so lonely I just to cry and I am about to spend yet another saturday night at home...

When did ti all go so wrong. Does anyone else feel like they spend every day pretending to be someone else, and putting on a smile when all you want to do is cry your heart out???

Oh yes, I've felt like that and it's called depression. Just debt is enough to make you feel like that, and if there's anything else going on then it just seems to tip the balance. Maybe it would be worth speaking to your GP? Doing that doesn't make you a failure, I mean, if you broke your leg you'd get it fixed, so why not a chemical imbalance? Sorry if I'm speaking out of turn there.

As for the family thing, I know a lot of people who find it difficult, I'm going through a lot of soul searching myself about my family. It's really tough when the people you're supposed to be able to rely on make things worse.

Sorry I don't have much constructive to say, just wanted to let you know you're not alone.

Thanks. I suffered badly from depression about 2 years ago, and luckly this is nowhere near that bad.

I think if I am rational about it, i've just been dumped on a lot recently:

1stly there was the bloke who seemly lovely, until his Dad died, when he annouced his ex girlfriend was having his baby, he was moving to the other side of the countyr and when I got a bit upset turned round and had a go saying 'if you react to everything like that you can f off' Nice...

2ndly, my Godmother (and fave Aunt) has Lung Cancer and has been told that even with treatment she wont suffer it.

3rd;y, I've had a 10% paycut at work and they are stressing us all out by making us work 100% harder to try and bring in more money.

and to top it all my Mother had the nerve to turn round and say I don't do anything for her....

OMG how pathetic do I sound :o

I'm so sorry to hear all that, no wonder you're feeling down.

I understand about your mum though, I'm going through similar with my sister at the moment.

You don't sound pathetic (although the guy definitely does). You sound like you've had a lot to deal with, and you don't seem to be doing too badly, considering!

I think I might have needed to vent a little, actually feeling a little better now, Thanks.

Still need to do something about it. My Dr/therapist etc said that you need to take small positve steps to getting you life back into control...

Just not really sure where to start.... getting into the bath would help, but I'm comfy in the dressing gown!!!

Oh, baby steps is definitely the way to go! And a bath with lots of bubbles sounds like heaven!

Right, out the bath. 1st step is:

Need to try and thing positively and find some ways to change my life.

I've relisted 8 items on Ebay, which will hopefully bring in a little money and help pay off my c/c.

But how am I going to change everything else?

  • Hi

I think we all have days like that, I think I'm having one myself ;) It sounds like you have had a tough time of it lately and Saturday nights alone always seem to make things worse. Have a nice long soak in the bath and then stick a favourite DVD on the box and pig out on something naughty and why not have a tipple of your favourite drink ;)

    Keep your chin up

    I wish I knew!

I don't know if it's the right way to go about it, but I've been trying to split my problems down into small components, I might not be able to deal with the whole thing, but little bits of it are easier to sort out. Then I can just concentrate on one problem at a time, taking baby steps to deal with it. I'm finding that as I'm sorting one little thing out, a few other things are getting easier and clearer to me, since it's all linked at some level.
