Hi, reading further into it, they don't match your money at all, they take it out of your bank account and put it into a new savings account, you are still using your own money, they just move the small change for you!
Stopped smoking Jan 2007 after 23 years!
    Cigarettes NOT smoked = 240,945
    Smoke free days = 11 Years :T
Cash saved so far = £125,45,11
  • dear ragtimeplayer,
i thought that too initially, but go to

to explain what the refund is about,
its the usual lloydstsb trick of making things sound far better than they realy are,
I calculate you would have to make upward of 100 + transactions with your card in 60 days to get the £50 quid!! This could even be construed as irresponsible!
they must have a whole lot of people trying to think up these nonsenese gimicks

no they do if u read it, throughtout feb and march, they will match the amount uve paid in, so its free money.
  • just thought of a way of shafting them,
fill up car with £5.01 six times ( if you usually put £30 worth in each time paying with your card), in the space of 9 petrol refullings you would have the £50
    result but a bit sad!!

  • I have now read all the information available on the LloydsTSB website and it states that they will round up each pound spent on your debit card and transfer the odd pence into your savings account.
BUT ALSO for an introductory offer they will match all the change which is transferred to your savings account throughout the months of February and March 2007 upto £50 each month!

  • Just use your debit card to pay for your purchases, say your shopping is £40.02, Lloyds will debit your account £41 and put the 98p into your savings account.

For how ever much they transfer to your savings account in Feb and March, they will match up to £50! Money for nothing!!

I thought it was simple :(
