Best Gadget/media Player Ever (merged)

I must confess to being one of 'those guys' who love a gadget!! My attic will pay testimony to this fact but my most recent purchase must be my best ever.

GRUNDIG are selling off their 30GB media player for just £119 delivered (these were over £300 in the summer) and i am over the moon with it thus far. It stores around 120 hours of video (in every format imaginable-AVI, DIVX, X-VID, DVD), has a camera and video recorder built into it, is an MP3 player, a radio, has input and output sockets so can tape straight from the tv/dvd player as a recorder or play onto the TV. Is portable enough to fit in your pocket (about the size of an 80's walkman) has a brilliant screen, simple to use-the list goes on and on.
I showed this to my brother and he literally went green with envy!! IF your a commuter and want to watch movies/taped shows or listen to music on the way to work then this is a must. Less portable than an ipod (you certainly couldnt take it jogging) but so much better value and so many more uses!!

Gets a pretty decent review at £350 here:

£200 at Amazon, so very good price.0 -
I always thought this website was about moneysaving but I find myself spending more money than I use to, I see things anf think "ooooo I must have that".
Oddly enough QVC had a "todays special value" of the Archos 404 this weekend and it was about £270, down from £320'ish if memory serves, and its spot on the same spec as this Grundig.
However according to the T3 review its not great, and the one reason I would think about buying this is missing, ie it doesnt record broadcast telly, however according to grundigs website you can.
But I really want it cos im a gadget freak arghhhh what to do.
All the best
The BearLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
I bought a Flashtrax 80g gadget early in the year from staples for £149- it looks a bit crap but performs very well although the screen could be better. We use it when travelling mostly and also as an external disk. I too am a gadget freek!0

Brilliant. I had to order one of these. I never knew i needed one until i saw this post and checked out the specs.
Thanks.0 -
Hi,
Jus so you know-you can definately record from either TV, Video or DVD directly to this media player! I just did it and its perfect quality too!! (i should be on commission for Grundig). You can choose the source as either the built in video camera (so you can make your own video) or 'line in' so you can record externally!0 -
Very sloppy of T3 to say you can't record from TV on this, don't you think?0

If only it came with its own (even add-on) tv tuner, it would be absolutely ideal....0

bought the archos 504 recently from currys for 213.00, a whopping 80gig hardrive and the screen quality beats anything out there. I'm a gadget freak aswell, put all the childrens pictures and videos and on there to show the realatives, oh and a copy of borat... i love that filmListen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0

I must say that if there is a new gadget comes along ,then i have to have it if i can afford it. I used to think that my Archos AV700 was the best ever gadget I had until I bought the Archos 504 80 gb version which i bought recently from Currys !!! of all places,it still has a widescreen and the quality is superb. Then again I recently bought an Eltax 250gb Hard disk/DVD recorder from Bid tv and again it is superb,no videos ever again.0
