Little worm things in cod!

Just got in from Sainsburys with my nice piece of taste the difference cod for tea (reduced...don't panic o/s folks). Sadly - it looks like something got there first - a little wriggly fellow who doesn't realise that we only compost vegetable matter!!!!!!!
Should I be horrified and shocked? I once took a tin of tomatoes back to Tescos because they had a caterpillar in, and the SA managed to convince me they were common as muck, and fobbed me off with 19p refund.
Well it isn't worth me going back out again for a refund, so should I just cook it well and pretend nothing has happened? Or do I have to go and kick up a stink (I'm not really a kicking up a stink kind of girl).
Advice appreciated

I bought some fresh fish once from a fish mongers - it was riddled  I didnt know you could get worms in fresh fish. We were camping so had to just rinse out the wiggly things and put it on the BBQ - put me off though. I didnt realise that it could have caused an upset stomach
definately complain:cool: Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0 -
Cod sometimes have parasites living in them so it could have been there since the fish was alive and doesn't necessarily mean it isn't fresh. I think that is what Oops a daisy is desribing. I believe in this case you can safely eat the fish and it won't cause a stomach upset. I'm not sure about this so do check. It would certainly put me off though.0

Thanks everyone...I did as suggested and rang the Sainsburys customer service phone number. They took all of the details and said they'd refund me for the fish and make it up to £15....so when OH came in from work I rang for an indian takeaway (yum) and chucked the fish in the bin.

Good on you! I have to admit I dont think I'd have eaten it either, I like my food parasite free.SIMPLE SIMON - Met a pie man going to the fair. Said Simple Simon to the pie man, "What have you got there?" Said the pie man unto Simon, "Pies, you simpleton!"0

Hi, a similar thing happened to a friend of mine. She was informed that cod feed from effluent outfall, and that's where the red worms come from.
If the ecological arguements weren't enough to put me off eating this fish, the worms certainly are!
