I do, VERY, not leaving it defeats the whole purpose, I am waiting on 6 lots of feedback from as far back as october, it really irritates me, especially as there is nothing you can do, apart from a gentle reminder. I think feedback should be compulsory i.e. if you don't leave it, you get some sort of penalty or warning. yes, I am that feedback nazi!

But Feedback is optional, and for people with lots it's generally not so important.

I get irritated when they don't, its useful to know the item has been received let alone that they are satisfied. Even though I advise all customers of despatch details its nice to know they have got there.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

    Yes, it annoys me.
Just discovered selling manager (which is free) which has a tick box email thing so you can pester all buyers that haven't left feedback yet with an automated-type email pestery thing :D
Bit paranoid that may irritate people though & cause them to leave neutrals/negs; especially as I've been "honest" of late i.e. if a seller has been rubbish in response to a complaint, I've told them so & have recieved a string of retaliatory feedbacks for my trouble:mad: I hate having unfair negs/neutrals on my profile :(

yes but think about it, how do these people gets "lots"? that's right , by people leaving feedback! It's incredibly rude and very bad manners not to leave feedback, whether as a buyer or seller. I am a little more forgiving towards newbies who perhaps don't quite understand how ebay works, but for anyone else, there is no excuse as it takes no effort at all, mere seconds to leave it, plus it is always there on your screen, nagging at you if you haven't left it, how do people just ignore it?

    Nope.
But I get incredibly annoyed by sellers persistently harassing me for feedback.
In general I don't leave feedback on buying accounts because after a point around say 100 I don't want to recieve it - becuase buying accounts become selling accounts - see below
And on selling accounts I only reply to feedback left. I tend to dump accounts after they hit a 1000 because in my field buyers seem to equate feedback in the thousands as your a big impersonal power seller who can't be approached with a silly query cos you'll be far to busy - I know I do.

And by selling lots of items... and perhaps by sending a polite email on despatch (as I do) saying 'Hi, just to let you know, your item has now been posted and should be with you in the next day or two. I'd be grateful if you could confirm receipt, either by email, or by leaving feedback.'

Not particularly... just slightly inconsiderate. Or consider the example of one of my recent buyers. She ignored my invoice. She ignored my emails. 8 days after the sale, she paid me by echeque. I let her know it was an echeque and would take time to clear. No response. It cleared, I despatched.

She didn't deserve a pos, but I wouldn't have wanted to neg her. A neutral is nearly as bad as a neg, so I left nothing. Does that make me rude - not wanting to leave bad feedback?

Not everyone looks at their nagging messages 10 times a day :)
    My TV is broken!
