EASTER Baskets

I've purchased my Baskets from Wilkos for £1.49. They are lined with cream material.
A lovely lady on MSE (Soblivon) sent me easter chick covers for eggs after a bad Ebay experience.
I purchased the clear wrap stuff to wrap the basket in from ebay.
In the sales today I purchased 3 animal shaped mugs at half price.
I intend to buy normal choccy bars and a few small cream eggs, marshmallows, etc to fill them.
What are your plans for Easter Baskets. Post any ideas/inspiration please. I could do with some more ideas.

Can you buy easter pencils or pens? The pens that have easter chicks/bunnys sat on the top. Also what about note books (again easter theme) and a little soft toy either handmade/brought. Trying to get away from the chocloate/sweets theme.0

I saw Tesco putting out Easter Eggs today btw.0 -

If you do want chocolates, then Lidl is always good for cheap themed items (hollow chicks, bunny lollies etc for a few pence each), and M&S is good for the bigger 'different' lines (last year they did a 5" tall tractor that went down well with my boys)
For non-chocolate gifts (these are all for children BTW) - in the past I've given suncatcher kits, wind up creatures (think springtime - bunnies, butterflies etc), novelty egg cups, shaped soaps, small games and pencil sets, and this coming year I'm going for 'paint your own' kits (mugs, piggy banks etc) and growing sets (sunflowers, grassheads etc)DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -
I' m doing some easter baskets for relatives who I usually get flowers etc for at Easter, and some for the 7 kids (including my 4 big kids) i usually give money/eggs to.
For the ladies i am going with a yellow/ green colour theme. i have just ordered some oil of evening primrose toiletries bogof from Boots. Soap, talc, handwash and shower gel I think. All in nice yellow packaging and work out about 55p each or there abouts.going to look out for nice little duck cuddly in £1 shop and put it all in a small basket(from charity shops) line with shredded green tissue paper, wrap in cellophane with big yellow bow. Should work out around £3 per person and will be nice change to bunches of daffs or a choc egg.
kids will be having choccy based hampers - going to make personalised choc slabs and also put in cream eggs, mini eggs, and other bits and pieces.Still trying to decide what to put these into.
Not decided what OH is having yet either:rolleyes:
Will be watching this thread for possible ideas:D0 -
Havent done anything like this before. Normally used to send grandchildren an easter egg via their dad, then as they got older they had some money.
I did think this year though I might have a go at the retro box idea and fill a box like that up with mini eggs, bits of jewellry for grandaughter, stuff like that. Just have to think what to do for grandson thats similar. By Easter youngest grandchild will be 9 months old so should be ok for some chocolate button type things ad a cuddly bunny.
I'll be looking for other ideas though as it's alla bit new to me.Mary

Mary43 - you could go 'crafty' for the boxes - colouring pencils, stickers, collage bits etc - that would work for boys or girls.DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0

Would work for grandaughter........she loves arty stuff but grandson is into computers, football and general 'boy' stuff that I've lost track of a bit apart from the usual play station games and they're a bit of the expensive side for me so I stopped buying those long ago. At 15 he's quite grown up in many ways so I'll really have to think hard..............don't want it to be too 'adult' or too 'childish'
Oh lor............got birthdays as well, youngest son (36) in April, OH in March and the first girl we fostered will be 30 in March........got my work cut out I think......................lolMary

Costco were selling Easter Eggs today. So how old exactly are the eggs that people buy just before Easter, 4 or 5 months or even older? I am still in Xmas mode so these came as a bit of a shock.
some of your ideas sound lovely especially the yellow and green theme.0 -
This is fantastic I will be following your ideas. My DIL2 is expecting in April and she is in to scrapbooking. Would it be ok to make an easter basket with scrapbooking stuff in or is it too random.
I too love yellow/green for easter will be going with that.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0
