Os Sun 3rd December 2006

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wed 3rd Dec. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Tonight was dfil's 65'th - which ended with a heated debate! lol

i'm a bit tipsy= very hard to type.

anyway, we had old codgers(64+ !) complaining how they had a hard time cos they couldn't get the discounts we ( the youngesters could!) online. we were most annoyed as they chose to be computer illiterate, my dad is only 58 and taught himself how to use a laptop. i have offered to teach both my mil & fil to learn to use a pc. the ones complaining would never dream of getting a pc - so why is their reluctance our fault? jealous i suppose

    Good morning everyone,

Well it's 4.15pm here and DGS has been asleep since 1pm. The dogs are barking so that should wake him up. I hope he wants to go to bed at a reasonable hour. I've never known him to sleep this long. Yes, hes awake.
Must fly. Have a lovely sunday to all. Will pop back later. Byeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Good morning everyone:hello:

Typical....my first chance of a lie in for ages and I can't sleep. :(

    Nothing much planned for today....

A quick visit to my Dad's this morning, maybe a bit of shopping. All this talk of cheap goose in Lidl and Aldi made me run out and get one so I'm cooking a goose for dinner. That means I'll probably spend most of the afternoon in the kitchen, hopefully it'll be worth it.

I hope you're all well and have a lovely Sunday. :)

    Morning everyone!

Oooo it's a wet and horrible day here, really really yukkity yuk! My kitties were begging to go outside - I obliged and opened the door, and the two of them turned tail and ran back inside. They aren't at all silly those two...

It's going to be a nesting day today - I need to do lots of cleaning and chucking out of bits and pieces. I think I'll do some cooking too, and use up whatever bits and pieces are in the fridge. The freezer is stuffed full of bargains and leftovers - it's high time I made an inventory as I really don't have much of a clue about what's in there.

If I do venture out it'll be to buy some frames so that I can hang some nice photos up.

    Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

    Morning all :hello:

The wind and rain kept waking me up all night  I looked out of the window this morning, the recycling box has made it's way from the back garden to the front and it's contents are all over next door's front garden. What I want to know is, how on earth did it get over the gate? Must have flown :D

Off to Aldi today for a few bits and pieces, a bit of ironing to do and that's it. Not sure what to do this afternoon, the weather's awful so don't really want to go out, might rent a DVD.

In my advent calendar today - a Christmas tree :D

    Good morning everyone,

Well, ive been up for ages, as the electricity went off in the moiddle of the night and has only just come back on!!!! Of course, today is the day that DS wakes at 6 but cant do anything as it was too dark to read, and no telly!!!!! I had tried to tape match of the day for him, as he wanted to see the Arsenal match, but he has missed it, so not a happy bunny!!!!! We all cheered when it came back on tho, its amazing how much of our stuff works with the electric - the heating, shower, most of the things in the kitchen. Luckily i have a gas hob so i was boiling water for a cuppa on there!!!!
Plans for today (if the electric stays on!!!) watch strictly come dancing we taped last night, we watch Xfactor - so glad the Mcdonald Brothers went last night!!!! im going to dye my hair and maybe do some baking withh DD!!!! I made a large roast last week, so froze half of it, so just need to heat it up later, so really nice and easy this week.
Right, better do something, have been up for ages, yetr we've done nothing!!!
Hope everyone has a lovely day - Chardonnay, hope you dont have a hangover now!!!!
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

PS ageandjo - hope the move has gone well, and good result for you yesterday!!!!

    Hi all,
Windy here too, but not as bad as it sounds elsewhere.

Lots of cleaning to do today, and visit my Dad, and collect an article from a fellow freecycler.

Listed my first ebay items yesterday, and I'm stupidly nervous :o (Which I never am!!)

Must get the BM on, and we're having some lamb from our local farm for dinner.

    Have a lovely day all.
