I would like some cookies or biscuits this year to give to my aunties for christmas. Does anyone have a nice recipe they could give me? It would need to be a recipe I could use so that the children could use cutters to shape the biscuits.
Also, does anyone know a recipe for the cookies they sell in M&S and Tescos (the home-baked ones in the paper bags that they sell from the in-store bakery dept)
Thanks!!

Ooooo I've got a lovely recipe for biscuits. I make them, freeze them and when the time comes to give them I just box them up nicely as presents. They always go down a treat, are very moorish and I get asked for them again and again..........................:p. My Dad adores them!
You can't cut them out with a cutter though. Just spoon them onto a baking tray. If you want the recipe I'll post it on here for you.0 -
oooh yes please! Thank You.0

The Be-ro website has some biscuit recipes, one or two of which will need (or can be done with) cutters.

I've been trying to make some like the M&S ones for ages. So far they haven't turned out quite right so I'd love the 'proper' recipe if anyone has it. Thanks in advance!0 -
This is my first post although I must admit to having lurked on this Board for a while and I absolutely love it. As a result I have bought a Panasonic breadmaker (SD253) and have not bought shop bought bread since. Even tried Naan bread last night which was a success! As I write this I have a whole gammon (from Lidl) in the slowcooker to slice into ham for next week's sandwiches and, of course, I'll use the stock for HM soup. On top of all this, I now make the most wonderful Chocolate Weetabix Brownies and muffins. This is all thanks to the various posters on this site. Many, many thanks.
I wonder if any of you can help me out with the next stage. I now aspire to making Cookies (anyone tried the M&S Organic Cranberry & Pumpkin ones - absolutely delicious - but £1.49 a packet!!). I would be eternally grateful if anyone could share any foolproof cookie recipes with me. Here's hoping.0 -
Hiya

Hi organic wanabe,
Welcome to MSE and in particular to Old Style.
Here are a couple of older threads that have recipes that might help too:

These are not classed as a cookie but they hit the stop.
4oz butter/marg
2oz caster sugar (or brown or demerara for extra crunch)
Mix together then add
2oz plain flour
4oz porridge oats
Mix together then make walnut sized balls by rolling gently in the palms of your hands and place on lightly greased baking tray (should make about 16 cookies) then using the back of a fork press them down so they take on the cookie shape. Bake for about 15 mins at 160c. They are lovely like this or...
take a few squares of chocolate cake covering and melt, spoon up and drizzle over cookies. They look great and taste even better!!!
The kids love making these too and so easy.0
