Sports Direct refund policy

Options
I bought 5 t shirts from Sports Direct for my upcoming summer holiday all in xx large, I got home and found only one t-shirt fit, and the other 4 were far to small even though they were made by the same company and all supposed to be xx large.

Put the 4 t-shirts that were to small back in to a carrier bag with the receipt and took them back to the shop fully expecting a refund after only buying them the day previously, a snotty spotty assistant told me I cant have my money back, I ask for the manager who also informs me with a smug grin I cant have my money back, the fact they don’t fit is apparently irrelevant in the bigger scheme of things and does not entitle a customer to a refund.

I explained 5 t-shirts all made by the same company and only one fitting suggests that the t-shirts were wrongly labelled.

Again he tells me you’re not having your money back.

Offers me a credit note for something else.

I become increasingly more irate saying I want my bloody money back because the shirts don’t fit.

In comes security to evict me from the store minus even a credit note.

Have just goggled this company, they have had over 1,000 000 hits regards their returns policy.

Please think twice before buying anything from them, in this day and age you automatically expect a refund if something does not fit, you won’t get it with these guys, it is disgraceful that you cant expect to return something the day after buying it in the condition you bought it from them with a receipt and unworn for a refund.

I wont be shopping there again, even though I have probably been banned.

What happened to the customer is always right ?

And just for the record Mike Ashley you are a robbing B****d !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Their prices are great, but would have definitely tried on their shirts as I think they are mostly Taiwan made and I wouldn't expect great fit or quality. Why couldn't you take the credit note!

so thats 1,000,000 people who dont know there statutory rights

you have no right to a refund whatsoever

it is your fault that they do not fit, you had a reasonable chance to "inspect the goods" for size, ie you should have tried them on in store therefore sports direct have fulfilled their legal obligations and were perfectly right to refuse

    in future try everything on

things rarely get wrongly labelled BUT different designs and labels can have completely differing sizes eg i have s, m and l tops in my wardrobe, all fit very similar

so yeh, your automatic assumption that you can return anything bought from a shop is completely un-founded unless the items are faulty which yours are not

please actually read up on your rights before storming instore and becoming irrate with staff

i myself worked in a clothes shop and its rather rude when people get angry because they dont know there rights and you dont give them a refund

and for the record, they didnt have to offer a credit not either so that is quite generous!
    Back by no demand whatsoever.

A refund because something doesn't fit isn't a right - this is down to goodwill of the shop involved. You are only entitled to your money back if the goods are faulty.

I wanted t shirts for my holidays.
I was not interested in a credit note for a new pair of trainers or jog pants.if they had other t shirts my size I would have gladly taken them

Each shirt was different in size despite all having the same make label.

I am 42 years old and have never encountered this problem before returning goods, I wrongly assumed all goods can be returned the next day in their original condition unworn with a receipt if they don’t fit; I have never used a changing room in my life and have never seen the need.

well as said different t shirts and batches, even individual t shirts all have different sizes now a days

always try on in the future

as for your money you could go in and apologise for your behaviour the other day and ask for a credit note or exchange

or go to another store instead if you can

Yep,but they aren't exactly Harrods are they?
Cheap shops try not to have to give money back.End of.
Thats how they stay so cheap.

I suppose it is a bit of a shock if you weren't expecting it.
My f-in-law keeps telling me he believes you legally have two weeks to take something back if you change your mind!Wrong!

It doesn’t help when staff speak to you patronisingly with a smug grin, I am pretty certain I ruined their day as they did mine, it felt good venting off my spleen with personnel insults, they might have got to keep my money, ironically it came at a price. especially for the goby spotty teen with a huge nose,

make you wonder where people get this idea?

people who buy from shops assume the right of refund and people buying over net are oblivious to there right to return

    all backwards

I'd be smug if I was upsetting a total !!!!! who was abusing people because they never knew what they were talking about.

As for the spotty teen with the huge nose. Clearly knows more about consumer rights than you. Bet he has better taste in clothes too.
