Time For Revenge Against Iceland!

Isn't it now time to make the Icelandic PM pay for refusing to honour the guarantees in place to UK savers re Icesave? While I understand that the UK Gov't has stepped in, he is going to get away scot free (legal action notwithstanding). We can do something about it. Here's what.

1. Don't go on holiday to Iceland (if you have any money to go on holiday that is!)
2. Don't fly on their national airline (Icelandic Air)
3. Don't buy any Icelandic Fish (or any other Icelandic products).

Then he will be hit by lots of angry Icelandic voters who get to watch their businesses/savings go down the pan.

Serve him right!

I found a return flight for £152 to Rekjavik on Icelandic Air yesterday. I was very tempted to take them up on it. Bargain price.

    £152 is very reasonable.

Does that include an in-flight meal?

... and when you get out there, they'll tell you they can't afford to return you and they won't honour the ticket. :rotfl:

The honesty and integrity of iceland and icelandic people have been lost forever. They will now be known as the thieves who robbed British people of their savings.

Boycott Iceland stores, Kerry Katona will soon be out of a job then! After been banned from fishing 'their' waters and now this, we should avoid all retailers in Icelandic ownership aswell. If people are stupid enough to put their money in a foreign bank, they shouldnt expect to be bailed out when things go tits up. The problem is that people have been greedy getting a slightly better interest rate, they should expect that that is at a higher risk. I have no sympathy for investors in this bank at all, but Icelands stance on this is unacceptable. Make them pay!

So people who went for a better rate of interest deserve to lose their money? I don't think you would be saying that if you had money in there (for the record I don't either).
People stupid to put money in a foreign bank?
It was a UK subsidiary protected by the FSCS. All they were doing was making their money work harder. How many 'British' banks are solely 'British' anymore? Also did you miss the problems with NR, B+B and HBOS?
Greedy getting a slightly better interest rate?
Financially savvy perhaps? Just going for a better deal does not mean you deserve to be screwed over.
