British gas essentials tarrif

Mybe I need to get everyone in my house to buckle down even more with usage,
Where can i get one of those energy monitors??
ta.
From British Gas
www.britishgasproducts.co.uk
£31.99 plus £2.95 p&p
This is the cheapest I have found for this type of monitor. Lots of stuff on various threads debating whether ones that show overall consumption or ones that measure specific devices are better. I suggest you read them and see what you think!
However, even without one, the biggest saving is easily made. Switch things off at the mains when you aren't using them. :rotfl:0 -

i got wind of the Essentials tarrif 3months ago and am waiting for my bill to arrive (which should of been 3 weeks ago!! ) and hopefully the adjustment will be on there.
im really worried being a single parent and when hearing about the price rise of 35% it my blood boil!! i thought what is the point in helping me when im struggling by giving me10% off my bill if they going to rise the costs by 35%!!
im struggling more so than ever at the moment with rising costs on everything.
after reading this thread i really am hoping that the prices stay as they are on the essentials tarriff.
im getting tot he stage where i really cannot afford my bills, my last winter bill was £154 quarter, it should get slightly easier over the summer months but their rising prices so much that even the summer bill will be way over what i would normally pay meaning the next winter for everyone is going to be enormous.
a year ago a bill that cost me around £90 rose to the winter bill £154, with rises already on top of that im expecting a winter bill next season of around £200 a quarter just for my Gas usage.
so will i be best really staying on this Essentials tariff?
what help can i get if and when i cant pay my bill?
out of a £60 personal income per week, im looking at having to save some where between £30-£40 just energy bills, with the rest im supposed to feed, clothe myself as well as run a car (all be it very limited mileage)
some times it feels likes its not worth being on this earth when all the fat cats seem to take take take with very little compassion for anyone but themselves.
any help, pointers, info would be well appreciated.
cheers

Under what circumstances would someone qualify for eligibility for this tariff? I'm worried about my parents who are both in their 70s and on state pensions with the rising fuel costs. Would this qualify them?0

Yep, I've seen that page but it doesn't outline who qualifies for this tariff. Typical, they never have the full details of theses sort of schemes on their websites to reduce subscription!0 -
