Having just checked, this card is issued by HBOS. Thus there is not much point applying for one if you already have substantial 'debt' [balances] to income as they tend to decline on the 'prudent lender' principle more than other banks. That said, it may be worth applying for if you have less than 100% of income on cards..

  • ...and "cashed" in £30 of Amazon.co.uk goods. I supplied for it when it first came out and got the voucher. Then, earlier this year, I thought: "Let's try this again." I thought they'd block my application, but it worked fine - so I got my second voucher. I'll wait a while before cancelling my card and applying again, but I might just do this - even though it'll hit my credit rating.

  • Clicked on link, I read it that you had to accumulate 1500 for voucher, 1 point for every £1 spent - Did I misread it?

is this card any good for stoozing or does it charge fees?

That's correct, but you get 1500 free points when you get it, so you only have to make one small purchase to get the first £15 voucher.

After that you'll have to spend £1500 to get the next voucher (though you get double points for spending at Amazon) - not worth it if you've got a decent cashback card.
  • Could you spend 1p on a transfer to your own PayPal account, so that you are spending the money on yourself, and then claim your fifteen squid?

I agree, but to clarify the spending required, it is 1 point for every £1 spent at Amazon, 0.5 points for every £1 spent elsewhere according to moneysupermarket.com. This means that you would need to spend £3000 at regular (non-Amazon) shops to get the next £15 voucher.
  • That is correct - if you want to get more than the original, free £15 voucher, then you need to spend £3000 outside Amazon or £1500 with Amazon. But that's not what the article is about. It's about getting a free £15 voucher just for signing up for a credit card.

If you're after a credit card that gives great cashback, then you need to look through the other articles. I think Morgan Stanley were quite good, but I'm not sure. Check the other articles on this site to find the latest deals.

I've just received my Amazon card and it states in my T&C's that a BT fee may be charged on promotional balance transfers but not on the initial promotion (0% for 6 months) so yes, a stoozing possibility

I just got one of these cards, and phoned to activate it just now. From reading the T&C when I applied, I gathered that the six month 0% balance transfer had no fees attached.

The guy on the phone just told me that there is a 2% fee, with no maximum  I don't think I'm giving anything much away by saying my limit is £9,800. Therefore if I balance transferred most of that amount, the fee would be nearly £200. Very disappointing, as I read there were no fees in at least a couple of places before I applied
