Ste7ieBoy wrote:One thing though, after refunding the champagne the manager asked for my name and address, which I did (thought of using false name/address but as I had paid with debit card thought it might be obvious)
Does anyone know what they need my details for or has anyone else been asked for this?
I saw her enter my postcode into the system and seemed to nod as if it confirmed something but I'm not happy having to do it
Finally, many thanks to all the OPs for my freebies.
I've been asked to provide a name and address on a couple of occassions, which I've done. Hasn't been my name and address, but I've provided one (if I've paid by card, the surname is correct).
I believe that you don't have to provide one, but it's probably more trouble than it's worth flatly refusing.
I've never had them check the postcode, but as I've recently moved into a brand spanking new development - first one in, it's so new - the postcode probably isn't in their system yet and the road not yet on streetmap. any other forms of ID on me?? No, sorry...."Life was easier when I didn't have a clue"0 -
Is it only my local store that has resorted to leaving the normal price sel's on display for the DVD/CD/Game of the Week promos? Me thinks it is so they don't get caught out when the price goes back up. Today they had Oasis CD @ normal price sel, Little Britain Live @ normal price sel and PS2 Lego Star Wars 2 @ normal price sel. All the posters had the special offer price. I couldn't check them as I was not doing enough shopping and I also had a 'run in' with my friendly 'Murray Mint sucking' Duty Manager, (who I have nicknamed 'Wriggles' because that is what he always does when confronted with a refund!) over the 2 for £16 beers. So is the sel staying in place a normal occurrence around the country now?DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0

I'm very happy with 24 bottles of Gaymers Cider. It took an age for the CS lady to check every inch of the label and my goods. She tried hard to say that you were getting a free bottle in each pack but she couldn't quite make it add up and had to admit defeat in the end and refund me for 6 packs of four bottles.
I'm sending DS on a Champers hunt on his way home as I daren't face her twice in one day!Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!0 -
Evening all,
Did'nt get the beer today, all labels were correct but did get two tins of 2kg roses, 2 for £10 discount did not kick in at the tills and did'nt realise till I got home but they have refunded me £8.98 for each tin which is the single price so was extra happy.
Chocs for xmas for free
did anyone else get these or was it just my store?0 -
the roses in my local are 2 for £15.00.0

BigjonnyB, your treatment by cs is truely aweful, if I was you I would definatly be taking that all the way and would be asking for more than a refund, surely they should compensate you for the complete dire service.
Can someone answer, if you do go to trading standards, do you as the customer receive anything back from it or do they just take the case and you get nothing?
As I have said before customer service is getting worse and worse, the stories on here seem to be getting worse every day, I know you don't know what everyone is like, I myself don't shout or raise my voice at cs I don't see the point, would rather just take the prob up with manager or head office.0 -

So don't know if they changed this promotion today, I went quite early this morning so maybe I just got lucky, This was my normal weekly shop though and was buying these for xmas so was an accidental r&r :beer:0 -

Going to Trading Standards is a complete waste of time in my opinion, personally I think a letter to Sir Terry and cc'd to the store manager is the way forward with these situations. By all accounts he is a very hands on CEO and does get things done.0 -
Thanks Wlfc1, have never had to go that far but good to know.0

Ste7ieBoy wrote:No, its back at 20.94. I checked 5 stores today and they all had this at 20.94 again so if you see it at £15.94 fill yer boots!
Visited an extra and the SEL on the Moet Brut Imperial (same one as the last time:D ) is defo back to 20.94. No poster hanging around though:mad:
All beer was fine, Cars, Over The Hedge no go either, Superman and Rainbox 6 for 360 were correct too.
So left empty handed but also forgot to ask if they had any Wiis in stock!0
