Have just made another FREE(0800.036.3839) phonecall to my Broadband provider, Primus.planet talk(Web address:https://www.planet-talk.co.uk).
As always, politeness, patience, good nature and help, coupled with excellent service and Scottish accents were Order of the day.
My choice of Broadband provider finally came from Primus being favourably reviewed on this site early last year.
Everything they have done, although there have been glitsches, has been kindly and enjoyably done, with a goodwill and just now(when I paid my bill on the phone), Gordon noticed my Loyalty bonus hadn't been applied. £30 credited.
We have also re-jigged my Account to save another £5-ish per month,to suit my low phone and smallscale Internet use over the 8 months since I began.
I said I would be posting this and hope it is seen for what it is - a genuine *STAR*recommendation about nice people in a company who know what service is about, who are young and likeable(in contrast to me)and who do not patronise or technobabble.
YOU WILL ALWAYS SPEAK TO REAL PEOPLE, EVEN IF YOU SOMETIMES GET CUT OFF - THE FREEPHONE IS GOLD-DUST AND SO IS THE SHEER PLEASURE OF CONTACT WITH EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF STAFF I'VE EVER SPOKEN WITH. PRIMUS ARE A1, HASSLE-FREE.
It feels right to let others know , who may be ditherng about which broadband to choose, as I did for so long.

Thanks for your post. It has spurred me to action.
I've just about had enough of my current ISP. Their customer service is exemplary but their connection comes via Biscit; enough said.
I only want dial-up as I cannot commit to an 18 month contract etc for BB.
I've e-mailed Primus to ascertain their dial-up terms and costs etc
To find another ISP with good customer service but also with good connections will be wonderful. You don't stop laughing because you grow old, You grow old because you stop laughing" Large print giveth - small print taketh away. "0 -
I'll second that.Been with them since June last year with no problems0

Agree with most of that but have had a couple of problems:-
After applying for primus broadband, phoned primus after a month to see what was happening. "Broadband has already been provided" they said. So got a microfilter and ADSL modem to try it out. Nothing. Phoned primus again. "There was a error with your MAC code" they said. This is a new broadband service so no MAC code required was the reply. "You need to speak to Dan". Got hold of Dan who said "Your line already has a broadband tag so we can't provide broadband". Got hold of BT Openreach. A very nice man with an asian accent said "there was no tag on the line but there was an order from Primus to provide broadband which would be going live on 21 Dec". Sure enough, on 21 Dec, the broadband came on. The next day, a modem and microfilter arrived from Primus. So somebody at Primus knew what was going on but they didn't let the helpdesk know and the helpdesk just seemed to come up with excuses and not the right answer.
However, the broadband is great and apart from the above, Primus are OK.0 -
I've been with them for over six months and have had very good broadband & phone service and no other problems. Would recommend them HIGHLY!!I have learnt that providing excellence gets you what you deserve and not what you want !!!0

As in my earlier post on this thread I sent my sales enquiry to sales@primustel.co.uk on Jan 30th.
To this moment I have rec'd no reply although I resent my original enquiry again yesterday evening.
I'm confused that if their customer service is so efficient why are they so slow in answering a sales enquiry
Perhaps I'm expecting too much - their reply to my e-mail within 2 days. Can any existing user tell me how long I should expect to wait for them to reply? You don't stop laughing because you grow old, You grow old because you stop laughing" Large print giveth - small print taketh away. "0 -
Just get onto that free phone line for them - 0800.0363839.
I don't mind human error - would much sooner have courteous, likeable, non-patronising efficiency and honesty, which is what I've always had.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

I normally like to enquire and do any deal with a Company via e-mails. Then I take hard copy and therefore have it in 'black & white'; less chance of any misunderstandings.
I will phone if neccessary. But I wonder, why Primus give an email address for an enquiry if they don't intend to reply promptly. You don't stop laughing because you grow old, You grow old because you stop laughing" Large print giveth - small print taketh away. "0 -
Now waited 6 days for Primus to answer my email enquiry to their sales office. In that time I have sent them 2 reminders.
It makes you wonder if they won't respond to a sales enquiry within 6 days how long will they take to deal with a users problem
I normally would not deal with any Company who cannot or will not answer their mail efficiently :mad:You don't stop laughing because you grow old, You grow old because you stop laughing" Large print giveth - small print taketh away. "0 -
I use Primus for free eve & w/end calls (excellent service) tried to get info about their BB 3 times after ringing the contact number on their website, seems they are on the ball re' business BB but reluctant in giving info to domestic customers. I don't understand it as I've heard good things about their BB service and really want to change my ISP....if only I could get the info from Primus....v strange0

Can anyone confirm how long the contract is with Primus. Truth is I am a fairly heavy downloader - c. 60Gb at night time only - and happy with my current ISP UKFSN for £20/month. It would take something for me to leave but I won't leave my one month contract for a 12 or 18 month deal.0
