You need a SIM other than '3' and you need this calculator.
1. Type your IMEI number into the calculator.
2. Generate a NCK unlock code.
3. Insert a "foreign" SIM into your locked USB stick. ("Foreign" means from any carrier other than the one to which the stick is locked.)
4. Start Huawei's generic Mobile Partner software.
5. At the prompt type in the unlock code.
You may need to use some generic connection software if you don't get the option of inputting the Unlocking code produced with the '3' connection manager
To install the new connection software:
extract the downloaded ZIP
make sure the drivers for your modem have been installed, as the update will require those. Drivers will be installed with Mobile Partner or Vodafone's dashboard (VMC)
plug in your modem
run the update
follow the instructions on the screen
after 2-3 minutes the update should be finished
unplug and replug your USB modem and install the new version of Mobile Partner.
Ready
Wait. What I would recommend initially is rather than installing the new Generic Mobile Partner to the USB modem at this stage, that you only install it to your computer, at least until you have completed the unlocking process.
So you should install this connection software to your computer, but in this case without the USB modem being plugged in.
Before you get started, I need to know as to whether you have used the modem on the computer before.0 -

Hi,
oh no it doesn't, least not for me, the other two work, I've tried it in FF and IE8.
Edit: I've tried right clicking link > properties, and copying url, but still not working, least I know to look at DC Unlocker now.0 -

I've tried it three times now(because of you) and each time the down begins. Even if it didn't there is a "Click here if your download doesn't start" instruction if the direct download fails.
Does neither work for you?0 -
Hi,
it's just the third link that doesn't work, for me, server not found, here is the url taken from properties,
http://www.dc-unlocker.com/download/soft.php?file=udV8IjE
could you try it please?
Edit: just incase you try and are waiting for a reply, thanks, I'm off to bed, will try again in the morning.0
