In a nutshell they've been a nightmare - avoid like the plague.
We joined them in March 2017 but we changed over when we were on holiday. In the confusion we submitted two electricity meter readings in error resulting in being overcharged over£900 by the energy company we were leaving.
Ever since we've been trying to get a refund and though you write to Iresa they don't reply - though you can see your correspondence on your on-line account. And you can't get through on the phone as there's such a queue -when were tried we've always been somewhere between number 100 and 150 in the queue. Quite appalling customer service.
After eight weeks we went to the Ombudsman who provisionally ruled that Iresa' s customer service had fallen short of that expected - which Iresa has the cheek to appeal against (no doubt on a technicality exploiting the lack of teeth of the regulator).
Current position, more than four months on, I've still not heard anything from Iresa, my meter reading has still not been corrected, and Iresa is challenging what really is a 'bang-to-rights' regulator provisional determination.
I'm fortunate that I can bear a £900+ loss for four months and however many longer, but many other people are not in such a privileged position.
Whilst I accept Iresa is one of the new wave of energy companies creating more competition the sector badly needs, they are not fit for purpose. Don't be fooled by their cheaper end prices - you'll get what you paid for which is a shocking company with no regard for their customers.
We can't wait to get shot at contract renewal time.
Thank you for sharing your exp which was originally upheld by the ombudsman.
Good luck with the outcome and refund.
We got out of Iresa ASAP as soon as correspondence not dealt with.
Await refund.
You are right - we could not afford the amount you await and we cannot actually afford what I'm awaiting in refund (even though minimal in comparison).
Could not find telephone number for Iresa but sounds inaccessible anyway.
Iresas' last Tweet today was 7hrs ago tweeted anyway and sent email.
Just now there Twitter said;
Iresa Limited @IresaEnergy 3 minutes ago
We are having some issues with our systems at the moment we hope to be back up and running soon!
Then a Tweet to say back online? No answer to my tweet yet but will see.
That't the upshot of the whole thing for us. No trust for us.
Glad to be out at least. The bit of saving was not worth the loss of peace of mind for us at any stage.Try to help and glad for help from strangers online in forums. No telling strangers online off, no putting them down or point scoring. Getting by.0 -

Iresa is not a Fixed Term Contract. You should be free to leave them at any time.
Find a different supplier and they see to the switch.0 -

Strictly FLEX is a fixed term 1 year contract BUT currently IRESA don't charge an early termination fee if you leave before the end date.
Biggest issue being reported by leavers, seems to be getting IRESA to issue a final bill and repay any credits owed!!0 -
I left Iresa two months ago, never had a bill and they are stilling on my £75. I am getting interested but they usage is showing as 0. Any ideas what I can do next? I have asked for a letter of deadlock and made a complaint, they just get marked as resolved.0

What was the resolution they provided?0 -
Are Iresa in difficulties? They aren't taking on new customers according to their website http://www.iresa.co.uk/not-taking-new-orders/
I have been a dual fuel customer for about nine months just paying a fixed direct debit but never received any bills or any acknowledgement of my meter readings & nobody has come to read the meters. I have been renting property & am moving out soon so contacted them via the website ten days ago then by email a week ago but had no response. I just tried calling the number on their website to be greeted with a voicemail message Voipzone customer's mailbox cannot accept any more messages.
I'll be out of the property in a few weeks so I'll just cancel the direct debit. I think that I probably owe them money as my consumption has been higher than their estimate so at least I won't be out of pocket if they have gone belly up.0 -

I hope you know your starting meter reads (and meter IDs).0 -

I moved house at the end of July. I have £175 owing from being in credit. They have disputed my final meter reading, despite someone else moving in that day and taking on the supply. I suspect they are stalling because they cant afford to pay and will go bust.0 -
They also told me the gas meter reading is done by external agent, but I don't have gas and they just closed the ticket.0
