Why not look around for a last minute ski or snowboarding week .quite social if you want it to be but not compulsory. PM me if you want some suggestions.

Really pleased you have a buyer at long last. That will focus exmrsJ on the future now having to move is a reality and not just theoretical. Healthier mentally for you all.

Tx for update. Great news all over. Fingers cross sale goes through as 1% below asking price is good.
Re Christmas - alone (does not have to be sad but liberating ) either home or somewhere scenic, in london with daughter , with friends , last minute holiday break , volunteering at your local soup kitchen - the world is your oyster :)
The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.
  • Good news Jack, hopefully this is the start of things looking up for you :)

A last minute ski/snowboard holiday is a cracking suggestion, but whatever you do I hope you have a relaxing and peaceful Christmas.

JackRS - rumour is there is not a lot of snow.......

Maybe get a quick few days away and use the time when ex is out of the house to sort out the loft? You can do the garage more readily when she is there than the loft?

Have a good Christmas and look forward to the next year.

...for your kind wishes and amazing support again this year.

Today’s my last day at work for the Christmas ‘shutdown’ back on Monday 5thJanuary 2015.

I’ve decided not to go away. I’vealso decided not to go to my parents for Christmas but visit them for few daysbet Christmas and New Year. A friendhere has invited me to his house for Christmas lunch, so I will got there for afew hours, don’t want to be too intrusive. Not sure when I will visit the house to clear loft and shed but no doubtthe days will slip away, so I need to do sooner than later. Not sure about New Years eve, I’ll work thatout nearer the time.

I’m a bit frustrated (as ever) with my new solicitor, I wrote the emailbelow to her and the head of the family department on Friday 19thDecember but have no reply so will call today:

‘I am writing to check that you havereceived my emails on the 9th and 17th December (below)as I haven’t had a reply yet? Whilst I’d rather you minimised your correspondenceto when a collection of significant points are needed to be shared, I amworried that the pending FDR is now only 3 weeks away and I am not sure if anyprogress is made over the Christmas period with many people being on holiday?

If everything is in hand and on scheduleplease let me know, equally please let me know what actions are required by mefor when?’
    Regards

You are on the final stretch now -next year will be such a
different year for you as you can finally move forward and make plans again instead of this ghastly limbo.
Good luck with the loft and the shed !!!

Hello Jack - thankyou for update.
Hope you receive at least the courtesy of an acknowledgment to your questions.

May the true spirit of Christmas renewal and Season's Greetings be ALL yours.
