  • Oh! I was getting excited waiting to know what was in it. Now I'll have to wait another two days.

Oh well, happy extended birthday :)

    Thank you, SDW!

I might go pop with excitement by then! It has worked out conveniently because WaSp doesn't need to be at Milliefleur's so he will be here ready to collect it.

  • As an alternative to stretching - carefully cut the seams down the side of the jumper. Then you could lace it together with a gap in between, think Liz Hurley's safety pin dress! A bit like this http://www.instructables.com/id/Resize-large-T-shirt-with-lace-up-sides-No-sew/step3/Lace-the-sides/

Or you could cut out the fun front panel and sew it onto another jumper that is a bit more generous!

Oooh, good ideas, Solar. It isn't too tight around my waist and hips, it's the top half of me. I have to buy very loose tops for this reason and I can't wear dresses at all, think upside down triangle or upside down pear! I have always been at least one size bigger on top than my hips and I am currently two sizes bigger and consequently have had slouched shoulders ever since being a teenager which does nothing for my arthritis. I hate it and long for a fitted dress.

  • *Quiet wave to metalswan* You don't have to post at all but I always like seeing your name in the thanks and send you good thoughts. Lurkers matter, too!

I was thinking this too, but a knitted insert (could be cut up bit of another jumper) rather than lacing :D
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).
  • I do think that could work, JM. As long as it gets wider at the top it will fit. Mind you, WaSp will hate it in a week, it plays jingle bells everytime his nose lights up!

    *Waves at Joan, too*

    Evening all.
Quick change of subject. I've just been reading in the paper about something called Star Wards (can't post a link, you'll have to google) Just wondering if it's something anyone has practical experience of, and how much of a difference it can make? Looks like it could depend on staff buying into it, which can be an issue. Thought I'd share it anyway, as it was started by a woman after an inpatient admission and its an interesting read.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • I am totally speechless and crying my eyes out but it's good. My parcel arrived, I don't even know where to start unwrapping. You are all beyond wonderful, I can't tell you how much you all mean to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am off to find a tissue and start unwrapping (this must be how children feel at Christmas!)!
